Does anyone know what happens if you rent a movie, watch half of it, then go back to it after the 24 hour period expires? Does it let you continue but pay for it again, or does it make you download it again. I'm hoping it stays on the disk and you can just pay to continue. If you have to download it again, you won't be able to pick up where you left off. That would be a pain. I'd do an experiment but I don't want to waste $3.00 and wait 2 days.

It's been a while since I've tried that. I just started watching a movie now, I'll pause it and wait 24 hours to re-rent and let you know if it remembers my bookmark.

Sorry Ed I beat you to this from this weekend. I was watching Conan the Barbarian and couldn't finish in time. Rented today again when I got back from work and the movie started right where I left off.
So the verdict is that it does remain on the drive for some time. But I don't know what the duration would be as you fill up the disk with newer content.

Well
- your results are anecdotal, while my test is intentional

Thanks to both of you. I'll wait for the test results but the anecdotal indications are promising.
I was so happy to tell my wife that. I'm going to put one of these in our workout room later this week or next week. One workout sessions isn't usually enough time to watch the whole movie and we don't always get back to it within 24 hours (I sooooo wish it was 48 hours). It will still cost me less than having my wife buy dvds just to watch it and add it to our collection, where it may or may not ever get watched again.
