Since I have gone with my Yamaha sound projector from my Pioneer Elite receiver I lost a switched power supply I used to use for my sub woofer. I don't like the idea that the sub woofer amp is on all the time and I find the auto function of the sub woofer doesn't always detect the receiver is sending a signal until it goes over a certain level.
Anyway RadioShack use to have smart power switch that you could adjust to turn on a outlet when the power draw increased. The would account for standby power mode line my sound projector has. I have seen the smart power strip from http://www.smarthomeusa.com/Shop/Har...ble/Item/LCG1/ But I was looking for something more like a single plug in to the receiver and another plug to the sub woofer. Any suggestions?

Assuming you have a trigger port on the back of your receiver...

Afraid I don't. My old Pioneer did but for some reason Yamaha decided that their sound projectors don't need them.
Thanks for the info....

With Xantech if you don't have a trigger, you can use a module to sense whether an audio port is active, and led is lit, a video port is active, a device is pulling more or less current than normal... You can then use one of those modules to control the controllable receptacle. You are only limited by your creativity.
