Question Automatic replenishment

Is there still not a way to stop the account from being replenished automatically? It would be wonderful to have VUDU ask if I want to continue with my purchase even though my account is low, rather than having it replenish automatically. I do understand that when initially signing up I agreed to the replenishment process, but I was just wondering if that was in the works of becoming a possibility or not.

Thanks!

At the moment there's no way to get that kind of message in the Vudu interface. I'm don't know if there's a plan for something like that in development, but I know the issue has been brought up before by others.

In the meantime, if that's something you're concerned with you might consider either setting the replenishment to the lowest value - so that if it hits your credit card it's not a huge deal... Or, to give completely opposite advice, set it to a high number so that you don't hit it very often!

Yeah, people asked for the previously. The way I imagine the system should work is that when you press Rent/Buy and it authorizes your account, a message should pop-up saying something like this: "Your current balance is $x.xx. To proceed with this transaction, a charge of $xx.00 will be made to the credit card on file. Proceed: Yes / No".

If you contact us we can disable replenishment on your account.

The only issue there is that each time you would want to replenish, you would have to call us. I've put in a feature request to hopefully get this added to the My VUDU page in the future as well.

That costs the merchant more money. Every transaction costs the merchant. Even Xbox Live and PSN have specific amounts you need to put in your account and they are much larger entities.

I've had a merchant account, so I'm well aware of transaction costs and didn't mean to say that you have to bill for every purchase separately.

This is what I meant: if you have $4.00 balance and order a $5.99 HD movie, the system will notify you about that and will give you an option to proceed with a $20 (or 50, or 100) charge or cancel the purchase.
