        DUH,

I didn't check the FAQ first, it says there is no support for Linux at this time....

It should work as long as you install the 32-bit version of the Adobe Flash plugin. The 64-bit version won't work.

I just tested to verify it's still working for me on Fedora 14.

Re: No video playback in Linux?

After trying many things including speaking to phone support and following their guidance, uninstalling flash, uninstalling chrome, reboots and such, I have the answer for error #3323 and #3322.

              found on this page:
              http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/m...s-playing.html

              sudo apt-get install hal

              rm -r ~/.adobe/*

              then

              goto: http://drmtest2.adobe.com:8080/SVP/S...Player_FP.html

              and try to play:
              http://drmtest2.adobe.com:8080/Content/anonymous.f4v

if everything works, you are good to go!

Re: No video playback in Linux?

I don't even have a play button for my movies on Linux!!

I never use the windows partition on my laptop so I'll likely never watch my free digital copy.

                Great.

Re: No video playback in Linux?

I have no play button either.

It used to work - I've watched probably a dozen movies on Vudu with Linux, but today I rent a movie and there's no way to play it.

The green play button just plays the trailer.

Frustrating... I guess I'll have to eat the $2.99 and go back to Amazon Instant.

Re: No video playback in Linux?

theoretically VUDU should work in the Chromium browser (apt-get install chromium-browser) as it supports the latest versions of flash and has the same flash versions as Chrome on Windows.

I have yet to test this as my install of Mint is not the greatest very choppy but give it a shot.

Re: No video playback in Linux?

Vudu playback works in Mint (using Firefox or Chromium) - that's not the problem. The problem is that they've removed the "play" button so there's no way to start the movie from a linux distro anymore.

My suggestion was to test and see if your Fedora 14 will allow you to play the titles through Chromium Browser. At the very least it is worth a shot.

Not sure if you're responding to me or someone else. But just in case you are responding to me, this is the situation as I've observed it:
                          1. Vudu playback used to work fine in Firefox and Chromium
                          2. Something changed with the Vudu site, and now the button that says "Play SD" is missing, so there is no way to even try to play the movie
                          3. In Windows, the "Play SD" button is still there.
                          4. I've tested Firefox and Chromium on linux - neither show the "Play SD" button.

Okay I see. I had some issues with Tethering a while back so I used a user agent switcher in chrome.

Try using this add-on for chromium browser and set it to think it is chrome on Windows.

Heads up for anyone on Firefox!
Using Kubuntu 64 bit here and I had luck getting Vudu to work simply by installing the "User Agent Switcher" addon for FF: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...her/developers
Just set it to IE 8 and you can watch in SD. Think this is a similar fix to what the fix above for chrome was.
Hope this work for the rest of you!
