    NO 1080p

Can anyone say why the Vudu on the xbox doesn't support full 1080p?

Currently none of the newly released media applications on the XBox support 1080p due to performance limitations. Hopefully Microsoft will be resolving this in a future software release.

Not a big fan of the 360 interface either. Back to my Vudu box.

Performance limitations? What does that mean?

          no one knows for sure.
Does it have something to do with Microsoft's Xbox Live? Keeping traffic moving swiftly on their network and such? I don't really have a clue. This seems to be the only difference between the PS3 and the Xbox and the PS3 streams HDX. However 720p is fine with me. I love the new Xbox interface w/voice command and I would rather be using it than my PS3. It's like Sony has abandoned the PS3, to be honest. And Vudu, keep up the great work. So far nothing but praise for you guys. Customer service is awesome.

Having gone from HDX on the PS3 which was fantastic to only HD on the 360, I can say I am disappointed. HD just looks plain. It's like SD on my 1080P TV and it looked pretty bland on the the 720P TV I was using earlier. Movies look great on Zune with their 1080P, but Vudu just looks like I'm watching standard cable television with the exception that it is in the widescreen HD format.

Will this be permanent or will HDX be available sometime in the future?

I was excited to hear that Vudu was available for the Xbox 360. Especially since I was just at my buddies house and we were checking out some HDX movies on his Playstation 3 so I immediately came home and downloaded it for my Xbox 360.

Only to be disappointed by not being able to watch HDX movies. His Playstation Vudu HDX movies looked fantastic.

It's currently a limitation of the application framework used for the newly launched Xbox media apps. Microsoft is working on optimizing it for higher bitrates/resolution, and we of course will support 1080p as soon as we can guarantee a good user experience.

I hope you can support HDX as soon as possible. I was surprised to see that I cannot rent HDX quality movies on the Xbox since we are happy to pay the extra dollar to get the better quality!

The Xbox app is quite excellent, our family has moved from Amazon VOD to Vudu for most movie -- just get it to 1080p ASAP.

                    Thanks!

                      Re: NO 1080p

Can you at least put an option for purchasing HDX on the 360 so if we only have the 360 available, we can purchase for use on other devices. I have a Blu-ray player that does HDX, so I would like the ability to purchase from the 360 so I can play on the Blu-ray player. There is no reason this should not be done.

No *technical* reason, at least You may have noticed that all purchases on the XBox go through your XBox Live account. HDX can't be played on the XBox, and Microsoft won't allow something that can't be used on the console to be purchased on it (for business and customer care issues, I assume).

I know it's not ideal, but until HDX is supported on XBox you can always purchase on our website and watch on any device...

That's not entirely true. I had rented the last pirates movie from online to check out the 7.1 audio when it was a 99 cent rental. But then it didn't show up on my Boxee Boxes and I realized it was a Disney title and those don't show up on my Boxee Boxes. So I never checked out the 7.1 audio.

I think it's MS just not wanting vudu to compete with the zune video marketplace. Anyway to get more money from you.
