The Dark Knight Trilogy HDX upgrade?

I already had the SD versions of the first two films that came with the Steelbook bluray versions. Since there is no way to upgrade I figured I would buy the Dark Knight Trilogy on bluray since it came with the UV copies of all the movies. I'm frustrated now because it did not update my SD's to HDX like I would have recieved if I didnt already own the SD versions. The Dark Knight Rises is in HDX but it just ignored the first two since I already had them. Is there a way for cust. service to upgrade my first 2 films to HDX since I have the code to have all 3 in HDX?

You should have got HDX from the steal books from the beginning. Have you contacted Vudu support yet about not getting HDX from the Trilogy? You can take your Batman Begins and The Dark Knight blu-rays to Wal-mart for D2D. I know you probably don't want to pay again for the movies.

I D2D Batman Begins and The Dark Knight back when Rises was about to go theaters. I bought The Dark Knight Trilogy pre-purchase and uvvu.com showed I got HD of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight when I redeemed my pre-purchase from Wal-mart.

It depends on when he got them. Seems like he got them when WB and Universal were still only offering SD copies for all UV codes (even blu-rays). They have since changed their mind but WB is stubborn about giving you an upgrade if even if you have the blu-ray.

fadetonite, try contacting whomever you redeemed the Trilogy with (Flixster or Vudu) as well about the trilogy code and see if they'll add HD version for the first two.

Re: The Dark Knight Trilogy HDX upgrade?

I bought the trilogy but they are all SD versions. I purchased DK on black friday and It came with hdx version. How do I know which movies to get with HDX versions. Any ideas as to how to try and get my HDX versions on the other two movies.

Well i contacted flixster and they told me this:

There's no way to upgrade SD movies to HD at this time. This feature may be available in the future. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Not sure if Vudu can help or not. I do not believe the statement above either as its no different than buying the HDX version if you already own the SD version.

its seems, based on a couple others threads ive read, that vudu is taking a hands off aproach on this kinda problem basically saying the problem is between you and the license provider aka flixster.

currently the only way i know to get a hdx copy in your situation is through D2D.

Yeah, there's really not much VUDU can do. With the way UV works, basically Flixster told UV that you owned the SD version of the movie, and so when VUDU asks UV servers which version you own, it says SD. If you want to watch HD(X) on VUDU, the redeemer (Flixster) has to tell UV that you own the HD version. VUDU can't just let someone stream the HD version because they claim Warner/Flixster messed up the UV rights...

And to make it more complicated, in the end the code from the studio is really what determines SD/HD, and sometimes (by accident or intentionally I don't know) the studio puts an SD code on a Blu-ray. Though in the case of Warner w/ Dark Knight, they own Flixster so I guess in the end they are responsible either way...

Well my "The Dark Knight" movie got upgraded somehow recently. I just noticed it yesterday. Hopefully they will upgrade Batman Begins and I will have the full HDX collection like I should have recieved. Thanks for the replies.

This is curious as I got my Batman Trilogy 12/5 and it added all three as HDX. Weird.
