How did you find out about this!? Its not listed in anime collection or anywhere but "search". What audio stream is it? Is it the 80's dub or the remaster 2000 dub?

...notice how there is a redeem button?

I was just doing a general search of foreign titles and there it was. Dont know any specifics but I hadn't seen any posting related to the title. Now if we could just get Ninja Scroll.

Oh wow, I may just have to buy it in HDX again rather than wait for it to become available for D2D!

Its the 2000 remastered dub. I only seen it in "Foreign Cinema Top Sellers" and no where else. I guess you can't rely on going to the "Anime Collection" tab for updates anymore.

No way to search studios unless its one of the "Major 9"....then you got "Other Studios" which is a melting pot of randomness of the other studios. MAKES NO SENSE because you can go through specific "TV Networks".

Too bad it's the re-mastered 2000 dub. Surprised it's not not UV like GITS.

Just a side-note. This does not show up in Anime collections page. I'm guessing there are a lot of added anime when never have shown up on that page which, what is the point if it does not update as new anime are added?

When I Google "Funimation Entertainment VUDU" I found there is a Funimation category page on the VUDU site, and Akira doesn't appear there as well.

I love the 80's dub better too, but its in TRUE 2.0, so I can see why they choose the other.

I'm thinking they aborted on the VUDU code before the release because i can't see them re-releasing it again from the January date ....yet again.

I hate to necro a thread, but is it still only the 2001 English dub?

Vudu's cast list only features the '89 (and Japanese) actors. Which is who I'd prefer, obviously.

There is never a bad time to discuss Akira!

If you click on the More Info tab, you'll see "Language: English"; that's the place to look for audio information like language or encoding (DD 5.1/7.1, etc.). It is strange that they list the Japanese actors along with the English ones.

That wasn't exactly what TENIME was infering to. There is 2 dubs, its the 2001 english dub, but lists the 1989 dub actors (ie ninja turtle cartoon cast). Very confusing on VUDUs part.

Thanks. :-/ Ugh, I hate the 2001 dub, and it's because of the 1989 dub that it's my favorite anime movie. :-(
