    Alexander: The Ultimate Cut

Has anyone on here had any luck redeeming their Alexander: Ultimate Cut on Vudu? I got mine in the mail 2 days ago and the title isn't up for redemption here, only at Flixster. I'm hesitant to redeem it their because even though my UV account is liked to both Vudu and Flixster, the title still might not be available to watch here.

    Re: Alexander: The Ultimate Cut

Well since I'm apparently the only one with this problem, I'll just leave an update so if anyone else has this issue they will know there is no use in contacting Vudu support.

I've been going round and round with support for a few days now. First they told me to redeem the movie through Flixster, so I did. And like I thought the movie didn't show up on my vudu library. Then they told me to unlink my UV account from Flixster. So I did and still nothing happened. Then they told me to contact flixster, which I had already contacted UV directly and they said that the movie was showing in my UV library and in my flixster library. UV seems to think the issue is on Vudu's side but since I've been talking with support I guess it won't every be resolved. All I know is that I'm not very pleased with Vudu right now.

I just got another response from "customer support" here on vudu. They told me it was an ALID issue with flixster, but didn't go on to say what an ALID issue is or how to correct it. I wish that my tv had a different streaming app other than vudu. This is getting ridiculous.

        Re: Alexander: The Ultimate Cut

An ALID is the link between a provider (Vudu, Flisxter, TargetTicket, etc.) and your UV locker. When one of the providers ALID is either incorrect or broken, that ALID for that specific movie will prevent the movie from showing up on other providers. In this case it looks like the ALID that Flixster has for this movie is bad, therefore you will need to contact Flixster's customer support to have them correct the ALID. Once that is done, then it should export on over to UV and then over to Vudu. I hope this answers your question.

It's been almost a month since the movie came out on Blu ray with an Ultraviolet Code and it still hasn't shown up. Vudu needs to get its act together. I've about decided to just use vudu as a cheap disk to digital option and throw all my money and support to Flixster. At least their customer support is helpful.

            You mad bro?

It happens sometimes with re-released movies. The studio makes another version of the same movie eventhough there are 2-3 versions already out there. I think Vudu doesn't carry these films because it's pretty much redundant. This could also be a studio thing where they don't want Vudu to have the movie for some strange reason. By the way, Flixster is Warner Bros. and so is Alexander... hmmm... coincidence???

Vudu is a major player in the UV world and should work to set an internal protocol with UV/DECE so there is a mechanism to fix ALID errors. There should only be one source for ALIDS to be generated so ALID errors are a thing of the past. These errors make all UV providers look bad.

In this case it looks like there are actually 4 versions of Alexander
              Regular version 176 Min
              Directors Cut 167 Min
              Revisited (Final cut) 212 Min

and the new Ultimate Cut 207 Min

So Vudu customer service was incorrect when they said it was an ALID issue.

This is a new re-release from June 3 with a new UV redemption code. Vudu should have this version.

We have already reached out to WB to see if they will give us this version of Alexander, no response from them as of yet. Can't guarantee that we will have this on our service.
