    Ladyhawke - HD version?

VUDU currently has the SD version to rent or own.

With the release of the Ladyhawke Blu-ray this past Tuesday will the HDX version eventually show up on VUDU?

There does not seem to be any correlation between physical releases and what vudu has available in HD, but you never know.

There are a lot of titles that the studios are just not providing HD masters to vudu for some reason.

For example, most other digital video providers have had Troop Beverly Hills in HD, then the Blu-ray was released recently, yet the title remains SD only on vudu unfortunately.

Sony and Warner Brothers have a particularly large number of titles available in HD that are only provided to vudu in SD for some unknown reason, hopefully this will change some day!

I was about to start this thread! The transfer on Blu-Ray is amazing, and hopefully WB and Vudu can work it out to make Richard Donner's favorite film (of the ones he made) a transfer better than the scratchy 1997 DVD SD one we currently have.

        Re: Ladyhawke - HD version?

There was an HD version of Ladyhawke here on Vudu for awhile, I wasn't about to pay 29.99 for the digital privilege to it, but recently my horrible SD 'DVD - Disc to Digital' version of Ladyhawke isn't showing up in My Library, and searching in Vudu doesn't find anything. Googling Ladyhawke Vudu brings up a web address that's the movie page and says I own it. It's only available in SD.

My Bluray copy of Ladyhawke didn't have Digital HD code, and neither registers in Vudu to Go on PC (DisctoDigital) nor Android UPC Scan.

It's not the I don't want to watch it, I want to watch a beautiful version via Vudu, but the SD is not that, SD is fine if it's beautiful, but it's too small and ugly and not findable on a device other than PC.

I'm stuck watching Blu Ray only. I find it curious that this movie isn't easily found nor in HD anymore.

We have requested a new encode with the studio in the past. We will ping them again.

I purchased the HDX version on VUDU a few days ago...mainly to share the movie with family members. I was glad to see it was finally available.

I have owned the 2015 Blu-ray version since it was released, the Blu-ray received generally good reviews so I was interested in how the streaming version would look. I was pleased with the streaming version which I have watched on VUDU, Movies Anywhere, Google Play and iTunes, it appears that they all use the same master. The DD+ 5.1 sounds very good. The Blu-ray is superior but the streaming version does very well for itself.

BTW the Ladyhawke Blu-ray will not convert D2D although it's a Warner title.

Thanks for the updated version! Even the SD version has been updated and looks decent on my 1080p upscaled display.
