I'm contemplating it, yes, though I want to make sure that it has all the same bonuses as the Blu-Ray (I have the old dvd somewhere, but don't want to miss out on any new extras), and I don't like that it doesn't allow PC playback.

With regards to the aspect ratio, Snow White was shot with a 1.37:1, aspect ratio. With very, very few exceptions, widescreen wasn't used before around 1954.

I can't find the aspect ratio on the snow white page - I do see 1080p, 720p and 480p/Enhanced Widescreen, but that what it says on other 1.37 films that are correctly done.

I watched the 2-min preview. It seems to be 4:3. I may be wrong. It is neither wide nor 16:9.

I would of thought for a new digital release, it would of at least been 16:9. Robin Hood was when it was digital released a few months ago.

I checked on IMDB it says it was 1:37 which is extremely close to Full Frame 4:3 so it it is likely correct it also says most any movie made before 1952 is 1:37 not wide screen

I don't see a 2 minute preview available, but I'll take your word for it.

Snow White was NEVER in 16:9. Prior to the mid-50s, very few movies were in widescreen, while after the mid-50s most or almost all were.

Snow White was released in the '30s, hence why it is not in widescreen. Robin Hood (The Disney version, anyway) was made in the 70s, hence why it was released in widescreen.

Thx for the clarification. That makes sense now.

I don't remember any other titles saying they won't play on IOS. Is that a new restriction?

I've seen it before, but rarely. For example, take a look at 3D titles, and you'll see the restriction.

I doubt I'd buy a title I can't watch on my iPad. I wonder if that applies to all retail outlets....

Well you can watch it thru the DMA app and of course the obvious other way to watch a movie on IOS as long as you have your DMA account linked up to VUDU

And there's always iTunes if both it & Vudu are linked to DMA. In fact, the only reason I can think of for this is Tim Cook (and Steve Jobs' widow) want you to play it in iTunes.
