    STARGATE - The Ark of Truth

    I would like to see The Stargate SG1 movie(The Ark of Truth) that is supposed to come out in March. HD availability would be awesome. I would definitely purchase an HD version and rent an SD version.

    I would definitely rent the HD version but never the SD version.

      With a movie like this an SD version might be the only version available anywhere. Although I will always prefer the HD version.
      It was similar with Babylon5: The lost Tales movie. I bought the DVD but they ended up having an HD version on Xbox Live, which was the only place I know of where an HD version was viewable. So I purchased the disc to support them and still rented the HD version.
      With the Stargate movie I would do the same thing. I will still purchase the DVD and if it's availabe on VUDU to purchase in HD I will do that as well.
      Even if it's only available in SD, if it's availabe on VUDU before I can get the disc I will rent it from VUDU to be able to watch right away.

            I don't know if this is fact for sure, but there are some series that ARE available in HD format, like Star Trek Enterprise, but licensed only to view in HD on the HDNET channel. So even though the Sci-Fi channel is in HD it does not show any re-runs of Enterprise episodes in HD.

            It seems like yet another example of content licensing crap. It's just not right! I'm willing to bet Babylon5 is in HD format somewhere. (I really liked Babylon5 too)

            Guess what, I hate to say it but I watch Enterprise every week on HDNET.

              Any official word from VUDU on IF this is going to be available??? I'd much rather pay VUDU then have to run out to Best Buy to pick it up.

                I have the DVD on the way to me. If VUDU has an HD version of this I will definitely be renting it from them even though I will have the DVD.
                It's an extremely rare event for me to purchase or watch a DVD.

                  Time can only tell. The only advanced list of titles that VUDU publishes right now is on the box itself. I too want this title but before I buy I want to rent it.

                    Well I decided to go out to Best Buy and purchase it, which I picked up for free with my rewards zone points. I just couldn't wait for VUDU to figure this out. Although, I still wouldnt mind seeing VUDU pick up an HD version.

                    I should mention, that after watching this movie, it is definately worth the money, and definately exceeded my expectations.

                      Now I really want to see it. I couldn't get buy my mailbox store to pick it up and it looks like I might not be abale to pick it up until Saturday.
                      Maybe something will show up on VUDU on Thursday.

                        Any word on if VUDU will get this in HD? I have the DVD, but if VUDU offers the HD version, I will purchase that too so I can watch it again.
