Why all the missing films to buy?

It is 2020 and the digital store is the solution to out of prints and lack of shelf space. However that just isn't the case. There are so many titles missing from Vudu! These are just the titles I want but I am sure there are so many more. I don't understand how Vudu can sell Revenge of the Nerds 2, 3 & 4 but not sell the original! Some of these titles are far from classics but I would think a digital version is the answer to a title that wouldn't be worth a print run. Several of these titles are classics and make absolutely no sense that they cannot be purchased! Young Frankenstein, seriously?

Anyway, it would be great to see all the titles below added. Many of them I have on DVD/BluRay but would love to upgrade to digital, my preferred viewing method. Others are out of print, and would be great to have them available to purchase digitally!!!

It's called "licensing" and legal restrictions.

Many older titles have never been released on Blu-ray, in many cases not even dvd. There are a lot of titles that never made it past vhs if that.

Older titles have complicated ownership or licensing. In some cases the records have been lost, like with many MGM titles from 70/80’s. No one wants to risk a lawsuit, spend the time / money sorting out the rights, some rights owner just don’t want to do anything with the rights or no one is will to pay their demands.

It’s cheaper and easier to create a digital only master compared to striking a disc production as well but sometimes there just isn’t enough interest or there are limited mastering resources and they would rather spend the time on things they can make more money on.

The one good thing about the pandemic is that Warner and to some extent Sony are reaching into their older titles and releasing them on BD or 4K since they have no titles to release with nothing being released in theaters.
