The Fandango at Home Forums are designed to help viewers get the most out of their Fandango at Home experience.     Children's Content?

    I was surprised not to see it covered here at all... Long story short... I was traveling this past weekend. Wife wanted to watch a movie we did not own with my daughter - Polar Express (for all you parents - great movie for kids because there is no "villain"), so she went to the VUDU - not there - for purchase or for rent.

    I think that family content can be significantly upgraded, especially with the blockbuster hits that Pixar has put out. More specifically, I believe that a larger selection of "for rent" movies in this section would be appreciated, as well as more movies for the "youngest" crowd. My daughter is only 2.5, but loves movies that star her favorite characters (Dora, Diego, Care Bears, etc.). One would think that the cost of rentals would be low for this type of content.

    Thought I'd throw it out there.

    One caveat - youngsters tend to like to watch things over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. You may find the purchase price to be to your financial advantage....

      Very true... but that does not change the fact that there is a severe lack of "great" kids content on VUDU... there is good content, but in terms of quantity and "blockbusterness," there is work to do - and I cannot wait for VUDU to get there though!

        Even better (as I continue the conversation with myself) - what if I could subscribe to Care Bears and have unlimited views of Care Bear related content for a set monthly fee? That philosophy could be used across many different genres as well.

          You'd first have to sign a release of damages waiver and provide proof that you have an adequately padded viewing room with no sharp objects.

            Do I really need to preface anything about childrens content that it is for my daughter

            And, how do you know that I don't already reside in a padded room... oh, and a spoon can get the job done, just as easily as a "sharp object" could

              I think he meant from having to listen to it. I know my daughter only watches shows that I find tolerable, as we usually sit with her when she gets to choose a show, and if we've seen it already we'll read or use the laptop. But in general she has excellent taste, preferring Lilo & Stitch, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and Futurama. Speaking of TV content, for older kids (5+) I can't recommend Word Girl on PBS highly enough, I look forward to new episodes myself.

              Clifford's Really Big Movie was very good, once I got past the different animation style (different than the PBS series, which is a favorite in our house). Same voice actors, though; made in 2004, it was dedicated to the memory of John Ritter, actually. There's also the ORIGINAL Dr. Doolittle, which might also be one the whole family could watch. But Pixar & Disney jealously guard their distribution, even when judged by the penurious standards of movie studios. There are some others, but you're right, not the ones I'd usually look for.

                I'm disappointed the Polar Express isn't available either. My 3 year old daughter and I saw it over Thanksgiving. The town in rural Iowa where my in-laws live was showing it for free on the Friday after Thanksgiving. It is really a GREAT movie. But Vudu has NO Robert Zemekus (sp?) content. None. It's probably that he has certain control rights over his films and won't let them be distributed digitally. Too bad - I'd purchase it on Vudu. Of course, I will probably purchase a DVD now.

                As for other kids stuff, Piglet's Big Movie is on the box - my kids LOVE that one, but it's rental only! I've rented it enuf times to own it!

                There's also the Land Before Time series. My kids like that one too even though it's sorta tacky..

                  Definitely worth owning. I think that was the first movie we took my daughter to see in the theater, and we bought it as soon as it came out on DVD.

                  The first one is the only one worth watching. I've been trying to keep my daughter from knowing that there are sequels, but hopefully by the time she discovers them, she'll also have the judgment to decide to stick to the first one.

                    I'm assuming the discussion is 'Land Before Time'. These go back to my (now in college) daughter's young years and she STILL enjoys them! Guess it brings back fond memories of innocence with no responsibilities!
