Everybody Loves Raymond-Seasons 5-9 in HD. I see Vudu has the first 4 seasons. The SD streaming of this show on Amazon Prime is not good at all, but I do see they offer the HD via their Instant Video. Hoping that Vudu gets the full seasons for seasons 5-9.

              Re: TV Series Requests

New horror series THE STRAIN premiered on FX last night. Is Vudu going to carry it? As of 7AM Central Time, it didn't come up in either the "New TV" section or on a search.

For that matter, Amazon and Hulu Plus don't have it, either. Only place I've found to stream it is old-fashioned, have-to-use-a-web-browser-won't-work-on-smart-TV's-or-set-top-boxes Hulu.

Am I just looking for it here too early?

Update: It showed up here on Tuesday.

Sir, with all due respect, how can Vudu still treat its customers so badly?

Do you know that you charge us more for one season of a television show in HDX (in almost all cases) than it would cost to buy the blu-ray if it was released? And all we get is a stream.

No one had to press any discs or make any packaging. But the savings aren't passed on to the consumers. And Vudu usually charges more than Amazon.

I'm a loyal customer of Vudu, but at some point, we all have our breaking point.

I don't feel like Vudu gives out nearly enough information to its customers and, when you do, you're often extremely vague and with far too little follow up and specifics.

I see most of the same things going on in the forum about incorrect aspect ratios. Come on, what possible benefit would studios have to give CinemaNow the right encode and not Vudu?

And why would we still NOT have seasons 3 and 5 of the Gilmore Girls after a year or so since your "request"?

It's not even in the best interest of the studio to not give you all the seasons, since most people wouldn't be comfortable buying something that is missing 2 complete seasons. And, really, you expect us to believe they are withholding seasons 3 and 5, like they just picked those 2 seasons out of a hat to not offer you? I wouldn't buy a book with missing chapters either. Also, while season 3 is important for those who don't have dvd or just want the convenience of streaming, season 5, I would argue is more important.

Only seasons 4-7 were broadcast in HD anyway. They not only didn't provide blu-rays for those seasons, but seasons 4-7 were produced in SD 4:3 on dvd and not even in the 16 X 9 ratio that it was broadcast in. For me, seasons 1-3 on the dvds I own aren't going to get better buy re-buying them from you also in SD. However, seasons 4-7 would be massive upgrades for me and all the fans of the show since they are all in High Definition.

But why would I buy seasons 4, 6 and 7, at $40 plus tax a pop no less, when I can't buy season 5 too? You really expect us to believe the studio has anything to gain by withholding this season from you? If so, why don't you just enlighten your consumers with the reason why, so we can write letters to Warner Brothers? And why does Amazon have all the seasons? I believe WB wants to make money, as much as possible. Giving you the encodes for season 5 would only make them more money and make Vudu more money. I'd expect most fans of the show who are using Vudu will be like me and not buy any of the HD seasons, if they can't get them all. I want to watch the series, not parts of it.

Are you trying to force us to use another service like Amazon? So far I've chosen to want to keep all my content with you, but my patience is wearing thin between the high costs, the questions that almost always get left unanswered, missing seasons for no reason and movies you sell us without any disclosure that are not in their correct aspect ratio, when 99% of the time CinemaNow has the proper encode and more problems with your D2D program than should exist this long into it. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things too.

I sure hope things finally change around here, but I'm not too optimistic about it happening. That's a real shame, because you could really be far and away the best streaming service if you made the effort.

                      Re: TV Series Requests

You should be asking the movie studios this question, not Vudu. Vudu is the middle man but the studios are holding all of the cards. It will always be like that regardless how much we want things to change. They are making way too much money for them to even hear us out. Disney anyone???

It would be great if you could get episodes 5-11 of Manhattan Love Story. Amazon has them, their also available on On Demand and ABC online.
