Hello VUDU,This was sold as a "Next Day Air" and I am not understanding the issue. Aired on Sunday and today is Wednesday. We have re arranged plans because of this. The movie came out on DVD yesterday. Please help me with through this frustration by giving me a time or date. Thanks for your reply in advance, Bo

        Re: The Bible Miniseries (2013)

I have The Bible series in my Vudu TV collection (a code came with the Walmart blu-ray preorder).

The blu-ray is DTS-Master Audio. What is the audio cotex on the HDX files? I cannot find any documentation on it. I read somewhere that the Vudu HDX file is plain old Dolby 2.0. Is this true? I find that hard to believe.

Can someone tell me what the actual sound encode is on the Vudu HDX files for The Bible? Thanks.

According to this link Vudu states it's only available in Dolby Digital Stereo.

            Thanks for the information.

I must say that I am disappointed that the HDX audio isn't 5.1 DD Plus (I think that's what it's called). Oh well. At least the PQ is good.

              Re: The Bible Miniseries (2013)

I watched the first three episodes of The Bible up in my sleeping chamber just before bedtime. The screen is a 39-incher. Using my wireless Sennheiser headphones (I think it's a 170 - it comes with bass boost and faux surround sound), The Bible actually sounds amazing in HDX with only a Dolby 2.0 audio track. I am sure the headphones are making the listening experience that much better.

I have to say The Bible is just TOO RUSHED (so far). It's almost like watching an epic story on fast forward! Everything is happening at machine-gun pace.

A couple of things annoyed me as well.

The angels are wielding swords and brutally killing people as if they were the supporting cast from "Spartacus," "300," or "Game of Thrones!" Was one of the angels a Jet Li wannabe? Immediately after Moses receives the Ten Commandments, we see a preview for episode 3. The stone tablets of the Ten Commandments haven't even cooled yet and next we see the Israelites on a wild killing spree, wiping out nearly the entire population of Jericho. What happened to "Thou shalt not kill?"

Meanwhile Samson in episode 3 gets his hair chopped off by Delilah while he is sleeping. Hello? Since when did they get barbershop shears back then -- and why didn't the sound of the clippers wake Samson up? Delilah was tossing the severed dreads all over Samson and yet he remained in a slumber.

Despite my petty gripes, I do like The Bible very much. It would have been better if the series was split into "seasons" that could have devoted more screen time to the stories.

Thumbs up for the Hans Zimmer score!

You're spoiling it for me. I haven't watched it yet, I've only read part of the book.

I supposed you're going to tell me that Jesus dies in the end too?? (Sorry I couldn't resist)

Yes he does, but there is a PLOT TWIST at the end. You'll have to watch to see what happens.

Seriously, The Bible appears to be a sweeping success. I hope the producers will do a sequel (I'm not kidding). I'd like to see more stories from the Good Book serialized for television.
