Arrow and Flash Crossover Episodes Have Two Different ALIDs on VUDU

Both Season 4 of Arrow and Season 2 of The Flash contain two identical episodes. This is because there was a "crossover event" that had Part 1 of a story (Legends of Today) airing as a Flash episode and Part 2 of the same story (Legends of Yesterday) airing as an Arrow episode.

You can see both of these episodes listed on VUDU under their respective seasons.

    Arrow Season 4: Episodes 8 and 9
    https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/...eason-4/695900

The Flash Season 2: Episodes 8 and 9
    https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/...eason-2/695704

Since this is the same content, you would assume that VUDU would have the same ALID for the episodes in both places. Instead it has two ALIDs for each episode. How do I know this?

Because when I redeemed Season 4 of Arrow, I got everything listed in Season 4, except "Legends of Today." That shows on my VUDU account as available for purchase. Thing is, "Legends of Today" does show on my account as owned when I look up Season 2 of The Flash. On THAT page, it shows that "Legends of Yesterday" is not owned, and is available for purchase.

It makes for a poor viewing experience to have to swap between different show pages simply to watch a full season in order. I'm guessing this is why VUDU has both episodes listed under both shows. That said, shouldn't identical content use the same ALID, so that once you own it, you have it no matter how you view it in the system?

Right now it is possible to purchase both of these episodes twice due to how they are listed.

FelipeF Jake Any chance someone can look into this?

This is still an issue. These two episodes each have two different ALIDs (4 ALIDs for 2 episodes) so if you want to have a complete "season" you have to purchase the same content twice.

I just noticed this after seeing this thread. I own both seasons, but never realized Arrow's episode is listed in Flash's season, and Flash's episode is listed in Arrow's season.

Vudu please fix this. Both Arrow, season 4 and Flash, season 2 should have 23 episodes not 24.

          This is still broken.

Any idea if this is going to be addressed FelipeF? As it is currently setup, VUDU is asking us to pay for content that we already own.

These episodes have the exact same content, but they are asking for payment, even though the episodes are already owned.

So if I understand you correctly, buying or redeeming the season from one show unlocks all episodes except for one, which is actually unlocked but in the other show's season? And vice versa?

Exactly. My account currently has Arrow S4 with all episodes available, except for "08. Legends of Today" which shows a buy price of $2.99 for the episode. Now, if I look in The Flash S2 I own "08. Legends of Today" and all the other episodes, including "09. Legends of Yesterday" show a buy price of $2.99.

"08. Legends of Today" and "09. Legends of Yesterday" are Parts 1 and 2 of a crossover event. Originally aired with their respective shows, but included in the full season sets, so you don't have to buy something "extra" to get the full story (nice move by the content owner).

If you redeem a code from the Blu-ray set, you also get the "other" season episode added to your UV locker, since there is likely only one ALID registered on the UV side.

"08. Legends of Today" is technically a Flash S2 episode. That's how it will show in a UV locker. And if you redeem a code, that's how it'll show in your library. But VUDU doesn't have that ALID attached to the copy of "08. Legends of Today" that is linked on the VUDU Arrow S4 page, so even though I have UV rights to the episode, VUDU is asking me to buy it again on that page.

Exact same content, two different ALIDs.

Ah, that makes sense now. Maybe a limitation of how they can include an ALID to more than one entry without attaching it to a bundle. But a horrible way to handle it nonetheless. Hopefully there is a more reasonable way they can handle this. I'll add it to my sheet.

I honestly don't see how hard it would be to just remove the extra episode from each season, being the extra didn't air as that show's episode...

Just checking FandangoNow, and they have the episodes correct... this shouldn't be hard to fix, nor should it take this long to fix... Vudu support, where is the?

This is still an issue. FelipeF has anyone at VUDU looked at this? Any chance of a resolution in the near future?

There isn't anything we can do about this unfortunately. This is how the studio made this available.
