    Samsung Home Theater System issues

    So I have a Samsung HT-D6730W, 3D home theater system and a Samsung PN51d550 3-D TV.

The TV does not have apps, but the home theater system does.

Hooked together via HDMI. 3d blu rays work. Vudu 3D does not. If I try to rent a 3d movie it says that I do not have a 3d capable device or something.

Emailed vudu support, she said you have to enable 3d on tv and home theater, blah blah blah, and to ensure 3d blu rays are working. Responded that I have done all that and no response.

Sent another email to support stating what was discussed in previous email and still not working -- got no response. I guess they are just ignoring me now since they can't get their 3d to work right??

Anybody else having these issues and figured out a fix? Would love to give VUDU my money for renting 3d movies rather than buying and since blockbuster doesn't have them yet for rent - but, don't really want to support a company that doesn't support its own services either!

Since you can watch 3D blu rays you setup is obviously correct.
We are using an API from Samsung to determine if the connected TV is 3D capable. Apparently we get the wrong result.

I will check with our QA.
Does your BDP gave the Samsung 3D experience App? If do is that working for you?

I have the same system and have the same problem. But, I also have a Samsung 3D HDTV with Internet. The TV accesses the 3D on Vudu just fine, but I cannot get the home theater system to show 3D from Vudu. Vudu says the system is not 3D capable.

Sorry for the delay in response. I gave up on this until I had a VUDU update and thought it would work .. still not working.

But you hit the nail on the head by saying you are using API from Samsung - When I bought the TV it was at the beginning of a two free pair of 3d glasses promotion - long story short it was a struggle to get them from Samsung and made many phone calls to Samsung customer service. I first had to fight with them to make them understand after giving them my TV model number that it was in fact a 3D television. One rep looked up the specs and said "Its not even a 3D TV." I replied thats funny because I bought one pair of glasses and have watched a couple 3D movies, the store where I purchased it advertised it as a 3D tv and had a demo with glasses and everything set up, and the box said 3D!! If you look at the specs on samsung's website for my television - no where does it list that it is a 3D TV.

I believe this is the issue. Could you please research this and make Samsung aware of the issue so I can use VUDU for 3d movies? I really don't like spending $30 or more for a 3d blu-ray and would gladly pay VUDU to rent them instead.

I'm sure you are losing out to other customers because of this issue as well...

And, no - I cannot find the Explore 3D app in the app store on my device.

        Thanks!
