    No sound on my vudu

I visited vudu labs which worked perfectly but when I went to watch a movie my sound is now gone. I tried unplugging the vudu box and reciever twice now with no result. Anyone have a suggestion? (Sure would be nice if tech support worked on weekends since that's when most people watch movies)!

That's not right - what connections are you using for the audio? It will also help if you post your system ID in this thread, one of the engineers may be online and can then peek at your system for a problem analysis. I'd also advise you to file a trouble report online at http://supports.vudu.com//contact

    Good luck.

Re: No sound on my vudu

There was a bug in older version of the software where sound via HDMI wouldn't work in movies after using VUDU Labs (had to reboot the box), but it's fixed now. Like Ed said, post your details here and VUDU team will take a look at your logs (system ID starts with 0x). And try to reboot the box anyway -- usually, most problems are resolved with a reboot.

When you say you tried "unplugging the vudu box and receiver twice" - did you mean you power-cycled them, or did you just detach/re-attach the AV cables?

You should definitely try a power-cycle, if you haven't already done so.

Re: No sound on my vudu

So I just found this discussion and wondered if the same fix for the Denon and Lexicon would apply to my B&K AVR 505 S2. The behavior is slightly different. While I don't get audio output from the Vudu initially (when movie first starts playing), I will get audio if I scan backwards or forwards through the film for a second or two. Unfortunately I have to perform this "scan dance" everytime I either start or come out of pause. My kids find it annoying. I've tried the "burst" option but it doesn't appear to make a difference. I'm using optical out form the Vudu to the B&K while HDMI is going directly to my display.

            Hi Ocramida,

Back in July of this year I spoke with a customer with the same issue with his B&K 507. I called B&K and they told me that they have to replace the digital board to resolve the issue. I recommend you contact them as they may be able to replace your board. Here's the number.

I have had my Roku boxes for over a year now. All of my channels work fine, except VUDU. The video is excellent, but no sound. There is sound on all of the other channels. Roku boxes are connected via HDMI. I just put in a support ticket, but thought I'd see if anyone had a quick fix. Thanks.

What are you using to decode the audio? If your receiver/TV/whatever does not support Dolby Digital Plus you'll need to switch the Roku output to stereo (the Roku does not support decoding DD+).
