    How to change overscan settings?

    Hi,

I can't figure out how to change the overscan settings. All of the documentation I've found says something like: "You will use the remote to move the arrows on the screen and change the size you are specifying," which is not very helpful. How do I use the remote to do this?

I'm on the overscan settings screen, but none of the buttons on my remote control seem to do anything useful. How do I change the numbers in the settings boxes from zeroes?

The left/right/up/down arrows just change the highlighted widget. The number keys don't enter numbers in the boxes.

    Thanks,

    Eric

    Eric,

You use the scroll wheel to browse to the "left/right/up/down". Push the scroll wheel down when you have one of the boxes highlighted. This will allow you to adjust the settings by scrolling the wheel forwards, or backwards.

Let me know if you have any trouble.

I should have mentioned that I am accessing Vudu through my Blu-Ray player, an LG BD590. There is no scroll wheel on my remote.

After updating my firmware, I discovered that I could move the cursor over one of the text boxes, then click Enter, and then using the arrow buttons would change the values. Clicking Enter again made the arrow keys return to cursoring around the screen.

Re: How to change overscan settings?

I just purchased a Samsung BD-C6500 Blue-Ray player. The VUDU image suffers from serious overscan. When I go to the VUDU Info and Settings page, there is no Overscan option. Could this be because I am using a component video connection (at 1080i)? I also see no Network Speed test that should be on this page.

The samsung devices do not have the speed test. Have you tried adjusting your TV settings?

The TV (a Toshiba 65 inch rear projection set) has no adjustments when using the component input).

can you post the model number? Also, some TV's have a Zoom feature, make sure that you are on 16:9

It is a TW65X81. It is certainly set for 16:9, and when I said serious overscan this may have been misinterpreted. It is missing a few percent. The overscan that bothers me is that the VUDU Video Quality Indicator at the top right of the screen is almost completely missing and cannot be read.

In the setup page on the samsung. Try it at 720p 16:9 normal, let me know if it's normal on that setting.

Unfortunately, the TW65X81 does not support 720p!
