    Movie Skipping around ??

My wife and I just rented the movie The Game Plan standard definition. Throughout the movie several times it skipped around back and forth a few seconds at random times. If I rewind back past the place where it happened it played just fine. The movie download was well ahead of us watching and this is the first time I have ever experienced anything like this. should I be concerned?

Could be the Chico syndrome. Do you have a small dog that might think the remote looks like a bone?

Alternatively, it could be the remote sensitivty setting is too high and you're picking up some RF interference. I'd suggest you try changing the sensitivity, or perhaps try a different frequency.

The first thing I did was secure the remote. I will check to see if the sensitivity is to high. Thanks

You might also want to try to pair the remote with your box. Instructions should be somwhere in the online documentation...

What exactly does pairing the remote do? I noticed that it will still control another VUDU box unless the dip switches in the remote are changed.

              Re: Movie Skipping around ??

The Vudu remote controller can be set at 4 different frequencies. The frequency is selected via the DIP switches inside the remote controller battery compartment.

The "Pairing" procedure tells your Vudu which of the 4 possible frequencies to listen to (and to ignore the other 3 settings). If your Vudu is already working with your remote, re-pairing will probably do nothing of value. It is only necessary to go through pairing when you want to switch to a different frequency.

Detailed instructions on pairing can be found in the thread at http://forum.vudu.com/showthread.php?t=1907

It looks like my son's xbox 360 was interfering with the VuDu. The sensitivity was on the highest setting. I lowered it to normal and the problem went away. Thanks for your response.

I'm glad we were able to help. Please be sure to participate in the other discussions when you can spare the time. Vudu wants to hear from the users so they know where to take the product.

                    Re: Movie Skipping around ??

pairing does actuall a little bit more than just sync up the frequency. Our remote commands contain an ID. By default the boxes ignore the ID. Once they are paired they do only accept commands from a specific ID.

So, if you have two boxes, both operating at the same frequency and one is paired. Then the second (unpeired) box will still accept the commands from the paired remote.
