    Dropping audio

I receive Vudu via a Samsung usb into my tv. I have an optical out from the tv to a receiver for audio. Picture is great, as is the sound except I get frequent drop-outs lasting a split second. I may go several mins without and then several in fairly quick succession. Its a little annoying. I have switched inputs and cables but with the same results. Any help appreciated, thanks.

Having the same issue here. I've noticed that rebooting the Bluray player makes the issue go away for while (20-30 mins) but it eventually happens again. VERY frustrating.

      Re: Dropping audio

Just watched my first purchased content - having same issue. Audio intermittently drops out.

Also thought it might be the type of connection between my LG smart TV and the Onkyo receiver, but the problem occurs using either Optical or HDMI.

The sequences where the sound drops is consistent so I tested the three streaming levels.

Sound drop out occurred in all the same places with both HDX and HD but seemed ok with SD quality.

My system is a wired connection and the VUDU streaming test shows I have 9 mb or over transfer rate - fully capable of playing HDX movies. The picture is fine - just audio suffers.

Will call customer service in the morning and report back what they have to say. Pretty disappointed; hope they have a fix for this or I will no longer be using the service. I did not notice drop out when using the TV's internal speakers but the sound was really low then (seems to be many posts about that as well).

This does not look like a streaming issue. Most likely an issue with the audio decoder on your TV ( I am guessing that HD/HDX have surround sound and SD has stereo?). Which movie did you watch? Also please let us know exactly at what time within the movie the audio drops happen. This way we can try to reproduce your issue in our labs.

          Re: Dropping audio

I have the Roku 2 XS, and I have never had any sound issues until watching Guardians of the Galaxy via VUDU. The sound drops at exactly the same time right around 1:43:00, and knocks out the sound for all channels on the Roku. I have to unplug the Roku or unhook the HDMI cable to get the sound to return. Any thoughts? Thanks, SG

Having the same issue. However, I view Vudu via the app on my LG smart tv. It happens frequently and with everything I watch. I'm going to say it is very much a Vudu issue and not the connection being used to watch it. Any updates to this? I realize this post began in 2014!
