        Re: Who killed my HDCP?

I believe I am also having a HDCP hand-shake problem. After 15-20 seconds my vudu menu pops-up and then I get my blue screen. Turning the box on and off sometimes gets it back but usually I need to power cycle the vudu box and the receiver a few times. I sometimes see a message about something not being HDCP compliant but it goes away before I can read the message and then usually it works, geeez getting tired of it so I thought I would see if anyone has any ideas? I have a mits wd 73835 and an Onkyo 606 AVR connected via hdmi cables. Do I have a bad cable? I don't think so because once a get it up it will work. It has been doing this for the past several weeks. I tried leaving the vudu box powered-on last night and the problem is still present but I did not need to reboot, it came on after a few false starts. Also I am getting a little bit of audio suttering when I just played a few previews. Could it be my router? I have comcast cable with a fast internet connection.

          Re: Who killed my HDCP?

Post your system ID and the approximate date/time the problem happened. This will let the engineers peek at your box and see what is really happening.

              Re: Who killed my HDCP?

UPDATE: I also, had a hunch that connecting the hdmi directly to the tv instead of to my AVR would fix this. Just tried it and yes it now comes right on as it should. My only concern is am I lossing any audio quality? I ran coax from the tv to the AVR, would optical be better?

Lots of people think coax better than optical for reasons beyond me. Something to do with optical reflections in the cable can cause bit errors or something like that. Either way, you are in the digital domain with either and quality should be pretty much the same between both.
