Vide playback SD only Fire TV Cube

I recently just started having issues where it only allows playback in standard definition. I have bought the videos in UHD and have previously been able to play them fine. Didn’t know if there was some sort of update or something I need to do now to get it back to where I can start watching it in higher quality. Has anyone else experienced this recently I did check some other
forms on here and have seen similar issues.

What I’ve done so far is signed out uninstall the app Completely then reinstalled it. Still having the issue though

If your Fire TV device is stuck on SD quality, please perform the following steps below. These steps should now allow you to stream in HDX as long as the device is at least a 2nd generation Fire TV device. Let us know if you have any further questions.

    1. Exit Vudu
    2. Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > Vudu Fire TV
    3. Clear cache
    4. Force Stop
    5. Launch Vudu again

      Thanks @FelipeF

This has been a problem on my 1st gen Fire Cube Tv 4k UHD since the app was released. All other streaming apps stream above SD just fine. Are you saying this will continue to only stream SD since it is a 1st gen 4k Fire Tv Cube?

Butchie88 i figured it out on my gen 1 to get HDX back let me know if it works for you too!!!

        1. Exit Vudu

        6. Clear data
        7. Clear Cache

        9. Link it with account again

          Thanks @EXPressionLess

Unfortunately this didn’t work for me either. Really appreciate you taking the time to reply and try to help though!

VUDU should really fix this. Now that they have merged with FandangoNOW, they could use part of their application that never had this kind of problem. It is annoying having to uninstall, reboot, and reinstall the app to get the HDX and UHD back.

Just purchased a Toshiba M550 Smart Fire TV and have the same issue. All of my movies are only showing in SD on the Fire
