No UHD Playback Toshiba Fire TV

After several app and OS updates, the Vudu App will still not playback UHD quality. Other apps like Netflix, Disney Plus, Youtube, HBO Max have no issues. I reached out to Toshiba support who said its a software problem, Amazon said they forwarded info to engineers, and I reached out to Vudu in September and followed troubleshooting without resolution.

Is this issue being worked on?

So Vudu support confirmed the app was comparable in UHD with your specific devices?

I only ask because it’s been coming up for years and especially recently. I have a 3D TV so why Can’t I play my 3D movies in the Vudu app. Or I have a 4K TV so why doesn’t Vudu play in UHD when other apps do.

Excluding bugs and other technical issues Vudu has every interest to offer all the products for sale (and playback). If they can offer 4K (or 3D) on any device they will. Sometimes it’s a limitation of the hardware. Sometimes limitation of the device firmware or operating system. Sometimes a limitation of the studios.

They want to give it to you if they can.

And just because one app works in 4K it doesn’t mean another will. One could need less system resources compared to the other. Or need different resources (chips) than another.

Did you get resolution on this? I'm dealing with this now. I ran all the latest software updates for the TV. In other forums, I read that we need to got to settings -> manage apps -> vudu and do some cache clear, but I couldn't find where that was. I wish someone posted a few screenshots of these steps. Not sure what to do from here.
I regularly buy movies from vudu, but now i can't watch my UHD movies.

        Give this a try:

        1. Exit Vudu
        2. Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > Vudu Fire TV
        3. Clear cache
        4. Force Stop
        5. Launch Vudu again
