    Audio Sync Issue

    Hey guys

Got a Vudu during the Xmas special and currently have it hooked up to my Panny TH-46pz85u 1080p plasma. It seems like any of the content that i have viewed so far has had a slight lag in the audio. Using both HDMI and Optical it still seems to happen. I emailed tech support about 2 weeks ago and they said that its a rare problem and unfortunately my system is effected.
John An said that it would be addressed in an upcoming software release. Im not sure if that was 2.1.2 but I still seem to have the problem. It happens on all the preview trailers and also Max Payne HDX. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

If you have the updated software you just Click "Info & Settings", "Advanced Settings", "Advanced Audio", and then you can set a delay on video or audio to synch things up correctly.

Are you talking about rev 2.1.2 because I have that version but the only option I have under Advanced audio is the S/PDIF Pause Burst. I've tried enabling that with no luck. I can find no where the option to delay audio or video.

      Thanks for the help.

I was having a similar issue. Being able to adjust the delay really helped.

What Software version(revision) do you have? Like I said I'm pretty sure my box is up to date and ive searched all through the settings and could find no option for adjusting the delay.

Are you saying that when you click on "Info & Settings", you dont' see "Advanced Settings"? or that within "Advanced Settings" you don't see "Advanced Audio"?

              Fspalt,
John is right. The SW 2.1.2 does not have delay setup but I believe next SW release will.

                Re: Audio Sync Issue

Sorry, for the confusion. Please take this as a good sign that the problem has been acknowledged, and that a fix should be in public release soon.

P.S. Jon and I are in the "beta" program and we are using different software on our Vudu's. Sometimes we lose track of when a relatively minor feature (yet major to somebody suffering the lag) has been released. Please forgive our mistake - you will like it when you see the new feature. And please don't ask us about what's in the next software release, we aren't allowed to discuss it.

                  Thanks Alot,

I thought that I was just not seeing it. I can wait for the release so that I can deplete my rental balance.

2.2 is now out. You can adjust the audio delay in the advanced audio menu or someplace like that. This should fix your problem. It did for me. Sorry you had to wait so long to get it.

                      Re: Audio Sync Issue

Digital or analog audio video streams or video files usually contains some sort of explicit AV-sync timing, either in the form of interlaced video and audio data or by explicit relative time-stamping of data. The processing of data must respect the relative data timing by e.g. stretching between or interpolation of received data.
