    December Boys video quality

I almost want to go out and rent December Boys on DVD to compare it to the Vudu version. I hope the original is of pretty low quality, because this was the first movie I've watched on the Vudu where it felt at times like I was watching a low quality streaming video off the internet.

There are a lot of dark indoor scenes with blank walls in the background that broke into very large macro-blocks. There were multiple scenes of people with mustaches/beards that had little to no detail, just a fuzzy blob. Even my wife (who usually tells me to shut up when I mention some minor imperfection in something) commented on how bad it looked in places...

The bright outdoor scenes all looked great and the movie wasn't that bad, the wife picked it, but the video quality was enough to pull me out of the movie experience multiple times...

Please post your TV make/model, your connection type from the Vudu to the TV. Any gear or mixers inbetween the Vudu and the TV, and what resolution you believe you were watching at. And the date/time you were watching the show.

We need these details to try to accurately recreate your experience.

    Thanks in advance!

The Vudu is connected directly to a Sony KDS-55A2000 via HDMI @ 1080i.

I think we watched the movie Tuesday night (1/8) probably around 9PM.

I know it WAS NOT when my Vudu account page claims I watched it:

We've brought this to their attention, that it's confusing; apparently, the account info is in GMT.

Max is correct - the account info page is in GMT.

Also, John, you may want to post this movie info in the bug forum. It could be an encoding issue. Or it could be that Vudu got a bad source file. I would post it there (yes, I'm telling you to cross post). You could label it something like Movie Quality or something like that...Then we can have it identified in its own thread in the proper spot.
