I have power cycled, uninstalled/reinstalled the vudu app, and power cycled both modem and router. I have been having this issue for 2 weeks. Seems to be issues with Xbox 360 app and UV content. Any help is appreciated.

Want to provide an update as I received a response from Vudu support on my case that worked for me. I had done everything Vudu indicated except for unplugging the xbox for 2-3 minutes. I did this and I no longer receive the playback error indicated above. If anyone is having a similar issue be sure to unplug your xbox as this may resolve your error. Anyway thank you to the vudu support team for their assistance in resolving my issue.

Below are their trouble shooting suggestions

Hello and Thank you for contacting VUDU customer care,

With the xbox our troubleshooting is limited by the device manufacturer with the steps we can provide before sending the matter to XBOX (1 800 469 9269).
    http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/apps/vudu-help
Use the steps above to remove the vudu app from the xbox .They are listed at the bottom of the page where it states the vudu movies app does not respond. After you have removed the app go ahead and unplug the xbox and the router/modem in the home. Leave everything powered down for 2-3 minutes. After the time has elapsed go ahead and power back up the router/modem first and then xbox. Once the xbox is powered up go ahead and redownload the vudu app. Once you have redownloaded the vudu app go ahead and go back onto our channel. If the issue is still not resolved please contact microsoft for additional troubleshooting at 1 800 469 9269.

Re: Xbox 360 Vudu App not working

New update: Nothing worked, although it allowed me to "purchase" the (currently free) episode of Jennifer Falls that I had already bought. Watched five minutes, then went out of the app, and then went back in. This time, despite having "purchased" the episode in-app, it once again said that I did not own the episode.

Re: Xbox 360 Vudu App not working

I see that I am not only one having issues with Vudu App and Xbox360 -

Looks like left blaming on right hand and both hands are up in the air ...

Last message I got from Vudu Support was below. After trying everything from letting my router-modem- xbox360 being turned off for 18hrs - uninstalling app and reinstalling the app.

do any of these support personnel have Xbox1 or Xbox360?

Hello Tom and thank you for contacting VUDU Customer Care.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Due to the Xbox being a proprietary device we are limited in the amount of troubleshooting we are allowed to provide. Any further troubleshooting will have to be done through Xbox support. Xbox support can be reached by calling (800) 4MY-XBOX or (800) 469-9269.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Thank you and have an excellent day!

        Sincerely,

        Ashlei H.

Re: Xbox 360 Vudu App not working

I have followed all the instructions supplied by vudu support.

I have tried my other applications on my xbox and do not have issues.

I watched several movies on Hulu and Netflix with no issues.

I have shut down all the devices - modem -router -xbox360 and left them off for 16hours.

I have uninstalled the app - deactivated my xbox360 - reinstalled the app - time and time again.

Changed my router DNS to google 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

              Rebooted everything again.

Love the customer support that closes tickets automatically - not waiting for responses and blaming someone else (Xbox in my case) - The worst support via phone - the support didn't listen.

I work in IT support - I do my research before even calling anyone - but to make someone repeat something that you already done several times via research.

Everything else works on my Xbox360 correctly (Netflix- Paramount- Sony- Hulu-) just to blame it on Microsoft is not an answer. How about Vudu tries to contact with Microsoft to resolve the issue.

                Thanks

My apologies, I think they closed two of the cases because there were three open for the same issue; they should have communicated that with you, but they failed to do that. If it's alright with you I would like to continue working in case 140611-000383. I think I notice a similarity with issue you and Speed are having, but i'm just waiting for confirmation. I'll be sending you a private message very shortly.

                    Daniel,

You are somewhat correct - there is an issue between VUDU and UltraViolet - I just downloaded Flixter (which also supports Ultraviolet) and the movies work correctly.

It seems to be an issue with VUDU and Ultraviolet - not VUDU and Xbox360.

Nah man, it's Vudu and Xbox 360. I've got Ultraviolet AND Vudu (like Hammer of the Gods) titles in my account, and neither of them say that I own them. Meanwhile, I've got a friend who is a shut-in, and he runs the app on his Xbox One without any issues.

Speed if your movies are Ultraviolet supported also - try flixster - see if you can watch them.

Speeds issue seems to be different and is unrelated to UV. We'll try and resolve each issue for you two as quickly as possible.

Just created a ticket with vudu. All my movies seem to be unowned when using my 360. All my movies are in the my movies section but when I go to play one it only gives me the option to rent or buy it. We will see what they have to say cause Microsoft says it's a vudu app and must be fixed with them.

Did this ever get fixed for you? I am having the same exact problem and so is my friend.

Our entire UV library shows up but when we click on them, they say we have to buy or rent them.

Makes no sense because everything works normally on my PS3, PS4, and Xbox One.

Re: Xbox 360 Vudu App not working

I am having TERRIBLE issues with both XB and XB One and VUDU.

I have more than enough bandwidth to stream consistent HDX. On the XB One the app runs HORRIBLY. I have removed and re-installed, but with no improvement. Stalls during movies where it just sits there, or Vudu disconnecting from service and crashing out of the app while navigating films. The thing runs like an alpha app and is just embarassingly slow and laggy.

The XBOX 360 app is actually an improvement, sadly. The performance still stinks though when watching a movie. I got Captain America 2 last night and there was frame drops, stutters, streaming delays... It LOOKED like a bad bootleg download off the internet. Paying $22.98 plus tax this movie should look BEAUTIFUL. Especially the XBox One since the console alone is a powerhouse more than capable of handling the throughput.

Vudu. your service is terrible and here I have over 50 movies in my streaming collection. Do something about it. Many people seem to be having the same issues.

Is there a device that DOES play this app seamlessly?
