Vudu Problems on PS3 and PS4

    Vudu Problems on PS3 and PS4

    Since the recent update (I believe it was last week), I have noticed a very long load time with the app whether it showing episode titles, getting them to run, or even getting into the app in the first place. Usually I can get them to run, but it may take longer than normal and retrying after some error messages.

    Curious to see if anyone else has had this problem or if there was a known way to correct it?

      I?ve been having the same problem on both Xbox One and PS4. Before this I had problems with the Xbox One version stopping video every 30-40 minutes and saying my network isn?t fast enough to continue streaming (230mb down, 12mb up), but I?d select continue and it?d be fine. Now with this update the Xbox One version is nearly unusable and my PS4 version is incredibly slow to load movies, images, etc. At first I thought I was getting throttled, but that wouldn?t explain my library refusing to load properly (doubling titles or freezing up and reloading the entire program). Once a movie starts playing it seems fine, but as soon as I?m back in the app menu system it goes back to glitchtastic.

      I like to note that there is another forum that mentioned VUDU had found out that something in the Xbox One version was causing video playback to time out, but it just seems like this latest version is not good on either console. Plus PS4 Pro still hasn?t gotten UHD out of the update.

For a bit more info: we identified an issue in the Xbox One firmware related to network requests occasionally timing out without any explanation that seemed to start in the October update. We have recently come up with a workaround in the app that is being tested now. If all goes well, we hope to release it within the next week.?

        This seems to be another issue entirely, most likely related to your connection. The latest Xbox app update did resolve the buffering issue for those with strong internet connections.
