    Roku App Crashes

Selecting the movie Suicide Squad Extended Edition is causing the new Roku application to crash and return me to the Roku home menu.

This was first happening to new when they launched the new interface. There has been some minor updates and I haven't seen this one in a while.

Obviously, but did you go into the system menu and force an update check ?

Yes I did. The Roku checked and said up to date.

Note: The movie mentioned above is the only one I see this happen on currently. I immediately tried another after going back into the app. Fantastic Beasts 3 played perfectly.

All I can say is this has been happening to all of us with random movies. There are many posts. I think The Professional was on of them. Which version I don’t know.

Besides you I haven’t seen any other complaints in weeks at least, and I haven’t had any easier.

Which resolution were you trying to play? Did you try changing to a different resolution, if there was time, before it crashed?

Could not choose a resolution. Just clicking the title causes the crash. It never brings up the playback screen to make a resolution selection. Maybe could try changing the default and see if things change.

Edit: That was a no. Changing the default starting resolution did not help.

Tried Suicide Squad Extended on my Roku Ultra and it crashed for me as well.

            You’re not alone.

I tested it and it worked for me on our Roku Ultra 2020 (4800x). Which Roku Ultra are you using?

I do however get that same behavior (closing app back to Roku home) when attempting to open these 5 (formally UHD) short film demos that were intended to show off Dolby Vision capabilities.

So now it seems there are different issues with different Roku Ultra versions. Here's to hoping they gat all this worked out with the new version of the VUDU app for Roku
