    SONY BPD - no thumbnails or banners

    Started around 1am. When using the app on my sony bluray player (my primary method of using VUDU), there are no longer any thumbnails or images of any sort--just the accompanying text. Everything else is working fine, I can still watch video. However, not having a working GUI makes it very tedious and difficult.

    I'm having the same issue and it started at the same time, works fine on my phones app but that's Android. I contacted support and they emailed me at 8:30am PST on the 14th, they said it happened due to an update and that it should be resolved within 24 hours. Well, its 4:30am right now and its still an issue, so I ordered Nividia Shield because Sony basically dropped support on the BD player I have, forgot the model number, its from 2018 I think but they moved on to their 4K players and went EOL with their others.

      The exact same thing started happening on my LG Smart TV yesterday (14 Feb). I ensured no updates for the tvs firemare or Vudu app were required, rebooted tv. Signed out of Vudu logged back in - nothing. Just black/blank boxes. The text reflects what the "box" is but I have no idea what I'm looking at. Ridiculous. No problems on my Samsung Galaxy phone app.

        We are aware of the issue and our engineers are investigating the source of this issue. I'll make another post when I have more info to share.

          With all due respect, if this happened after an update, why don't they do a roll back to the previous version while they bug hunt the current update and release it after they solve the issue? Two days is a bit excessive.

          As for the Shield, I'm sending the pos back. The app for the Shield still has the old "signal bar" thing on the upper right, which never worked right, and the Shield, the newest model and the previous one, they always choke about 5 minutes into Terminator, but so did the Roku 2, the only streamers I could play Terminator on are the Sony BDP's and the Apple TV without one glitch, in fact I'd say Sony and Apple are the best for Vudu, the others bleh.....

            There's nothing to roll back since there were no updates made. We are still looking into this issue.

              UPDATE: A fix has been deployed and tested. This should resolve the issue some of our customers were experiencing.

                Works dandy like candy for me... fell asleep in my chair and when I woke up the images were just there, didn't even have to exit and re-load.
