I feel like we're not asking for much.

    - Add the binge watching feature
    - Bundle the seasons like they've been before.
    - For the love of god, please make it stick with the way we want to order our films/series. I hate constantly having to choose A-Z
    - Have images with the chapters. I don't know where certain scenes are by just numbers

This is an issue with AppleTV 12.1 and out latest app build from the App Store. We are now focusing on resolving this issue with an app update sometime soon, no ETA.

It is reported on AVS Forum by others. I'm not 100 percent sure but I think VUDU level 1 support finally figured it out enough that they forwarded it up the food chain.

The opening commercials play fine. Which makes sense there's no audio from the selected program playing yet. It is the commercial breaks during the program where this symptom shows up. The program video stops as it should because the commercial's video takes over. The program's audio does not. Audio keeps on rolling. Some times the effect is humorous as the laugh track from the TV Show will play in the middle of Century Link's "They wouldn't do that"

Edit: Glad to capture it if needed.

We haven't been able to replicate this in-house so far. We are still investigating.

Happens regardless of how connected. The other folks reporting it on AVS Forum report same experience with the ?Free? programs.

I just heard back from support. They apologize that I am not able to hear audio on my device. Do they even read the replies to their questions? If the audio is out of sync, how would I not be able to hear it? I have to hear it yes to know its out of sync?

    It is easily reproducible.

Thanks for looking into it. Its not just me......

The audio from the actual show keeps playing behind the commercial break. Then of course when back to the show the audio is way out of sync. When I close the show and go back to the VUDU menu, not all the way back to Apple TV's home page, still in VUDU, the audio from the show is STILL playing.

I've updated the FW for the Apple TV 4K to the newest release, 12.1, but the symptom remains. I've turned off, on, etc., every audio option including disabling Atmos, frame rate matching, etc. Obviously nothing fixes it.

Does not do this if using my ROKU or VUDU on my Sony X800.

Whatever is supposed to be telling the stream to STOP, there's a commercial break, is not telling the audio, just the video feed. Hard to imagine this is an Apple TV problem. Its just receiving what's being sent. Seems to be a sending problem which means its a VUDU thing.
Are you using a AV receiver or is the AppleTV connected straight to your TV? Can you also provide me with your case # with customer care, thanks.

I heard back from VUDU support via a couple of email exchanges.

Vudu, Please tell us which titles are doing this?

Me, All of them that are free TV shows or movies that are long enough for a commercial break.

Vudu support, We can not help you if you do not provide us accurate trouble shooting information.

Me, Huh? What did I not tell you?

    Unbelievable.

    Waiting for their reply now.

Others reporting same thing on AVS Forum. I heard back from VUDU support. I have to explain the issue so many times it gets annoying. But others are having this problem. Seems to me it?s something in the VUDU app/formatting of the source file.

The VUDU app on the ATV4k, tvOS is delivering elevated DolbyVision levels to the Sony Z9F. Both iTunes on the ATV and the android VUDU app on the TV itself are fine. The Sony uses DV profile 5.

Also, the Android VUDU app on the Sony pauses any video stream when you try to edit a picture mode. For instance, when streaming a DV title, if you try to edit any tv setting by going to picture mode, the display switches to SDR in a paused state and this makes it impossible to make any changes to picture settings in DolbyVision mode (or whatever mode other than SDR that the title was mastered in).

+1 on integrating search into the TV app. I?m not sure how that works on your side ? is it invite only or can anyone integrate. I would use the app much more if integrated.
