The issue of not knowing what episodes you have watched or after watching something it re-shows up hours, days, or even weeks later on the "Continue Watching" list as not fully watched. Seems to have no fix in sight! Or how when filtering your movie collection by certain genres (e.g. Animation), your bundled movies don't ever show up. It's so dumb!

These idiotic problems feel like they have been around for many years. At least after over a year, they finally managed to care to add the "My Lists" feature to the Andriod TV app.

Come on VUDU get it together already!

I just purchased a Hisense U7G. Awesome TV. Netflix and prime work great but vudu only outputs HD, not 4k. Why? I would think is an "if" statement somewhere in your code to allow your app to work in this android TV properly. Please fix.

Do you any plans to add direct linking support in the Android TV app for services like ReelGood? The direct links work fine in the normal Android app.

I just got a new Chromecast with Google TV so I could move my nvidia shield to another room. Vudu on the shield worked fine but on the Google TV when using the app it only outputs audio in 2.0. As others have mentioned if I cast to it from my phone DD+ works but that's far from optimal. I contacted Google but they said it's up to the app owners to resolve.

Watched episodes don’t show as watched on Android TV/Google TV (I can never tell what episodes I’ve watched), and custom lists are nonexistent. Why?

Will VUDU ever fix these issues on the Android app? Even an old PS3 seems to have better support and or looks more appealing at this point. The VUDU app seems too incongruent between popular devices.

Is there a reason why the custom lists feature of the Android TV was removed in the last app update? That is the best feature of the VUDU app.

I'm using VUDU v6.0.1005 on a Sony XBR-55X850D model TV with Android software v8.0.0 and firmware v6.827

This was tested with UHD content already purchased. My library confirms UHD content was prepurchased over PC. But on the TV, it is now limited to HDX. So this ver of VUDU in combo with the Andrioid 8.0 removed the UHD option. Previously under the lower Android version, and the original 4.1.37, we could sideload the VUDU app which allows UHD. So to confirm, at one point UHD content is playable, but since the recent forced upgrade to Android 8.0 which natively forces Vudu to 6.0.820, we cannot sideload. TV returns message that newer version is higher.

I am seeing my videos correctly displaying as owning UHD content. However playback only allows HDX and SD.

DEVICE did play UHD, but now doesnt. There is no error message. UHD is not selectable.

Let me know if I can help test or provide more details.

    Kernel Version: 3.10.79
Current VUDU version: 6.0.820_26_1 *unable to play UHD*
Previous VUDU version: 4.1.37 *Able to play UHD*

Issue: Recent Android TV update to 8.0.0 forced us to upgrade to 6.0.820_26_1, natively which removed the UHD functionality

Description: Thank you for allowing the Beta for UHD playback with version 4.1.37. Previously the above TV could sideload 4.1.37 to play in UHD successfully. However after Sony recently patched us to 8.0.0, the native VUDU player updated to 6.0.820_26_1. Once this happens our UHD became unable to play. Highest resolution is now HDX.

Attempted to sideload to downgrade back to version 4.1.37 but it returns the message that it cannot now that 6.0.820_26_1 is the current native and higher version. The older VUDU version had a speed test feature to ensure UHD was capable. Recommend putting that feature back in the current version.

Feedback: For the above reasons, we have lost UHD playback for this 2016 Sony Bravia XBR-65X850D.
Recommend: Recommend allowing downgrade back to 4.1.37 or allow sideloading from APK. Or add the XBR-##X850D models to your UHD line up because it meets your standards and was working.
Question - have you tried UHD playback, or are you seeing a message that "this device does not support UHD, will play HDX". Because there is a known bug that incorrectly displays that message in the purchase dialog (that will be fixed in the next update). But it should still play UHD if actually supported by the device.

It has been doing this regardless if I had the TV connected to my Onkyo via optical, or to my Denon via ARC.
This was supposed to be fixed in Sony's Android O update... but apparently it's a Sony firmware issue, and they have provided a workaround - here's a previous thread on the topic:
