Loaded the new beta VUDU app on me Sony XBR-65A1E watched The Great Wall which looked great in Dolby Vision, but the constant buffering was problematic. My A1E is using a 200Mbps wired connection.....Hopefully this will get fixed in the next update....

i ran multiple tests on my 65x930e. I ran three different movies on the Vudu app for the TV, Apple TV, and my Xbox one x. I also played them on the movie app for the Apple TV. All picture setting were the same except for the Xbox was not in Dolby Vision. The Vudu app on the TV definitely was brighter and had more pop to the picture. I?m wondering if the issue is HDR/DV over hdmi? Even compared the movie Bright from Netflix and it too was also brighter and had more pop than the Xbox or Apple TV. It almost seams like there was a lens filter on the picture from the Apple TV for both the Vudu app and the ATV. I just bought brand new HDMI cables from BB and all the settings are good.

I haven?t noticed the ATV app looking worse that the Android app on my X930e. I did notice that for some odd reason, if I had the picture settings on the HDMI input for my ATV set to ?auto (24)? that the TV would switch out of Dolby Vision mode to regular HDR Cinema Home mode after briefly starting in DV mode. Disabling the auto picture feature fixed that for me. My ATV is set to 4K DV with frame and HDR matching on.

works good on my Sony 900e, picture was a little darker than normal but it did play in hdr, brightness and contrast were maxed so I had to turn up the black level setting a tad to brighten it up.. And word on 2015 Sony tv's? I have a 850c in my living room and would be nice not to have to turn on my Sony blu-Ray player when I want to watch 4K vudu.. Both tv's run android 7 so I don't see why it would be an issue.. Anyone have advice on side loading? I only know how to do it after rooting the os, I've tried Es file explorer also, backing the app up to USB and then moving it to my 850c.. It will install, but no icon shows up any place so I'm not able to open the app

I?m glad someone else is experiencing the same issues with the D series Sony 4k?s. Hopefully somone on the development team will see this and help to resolve the issue.

As I mentioned, using the Android TV app is actually completely different from the cast app - eventually I would think the native app will give the best experience.

As far as the 2 apps - basically... the Sony TV app has been a "native" non-Android TV app built into the TV. Vudu is moving to a full Android TV app that will allow more frequent updates and features, but there will be an overlap where both the old and new app are present.
Was using the beta app on tv....Movie just stopped, no buffering and kicked tv into the screensaver mode.Once I exit sreensaver movie finished fine....Also I was watching one of the extra's from Justice league in HDX and again it stopped and tv went into screensaver mode....Both issues were not buffering but just a complete stop and screensaver from the tv popped up.

Also, when the new app gets released will this beta be deleted so we don't have 2 vudu apps in our GUI? Thanks.

Closed captions in this app show up too soon. The text shows up before the audio. At least it does on Thor Ragnarok.

I searched for it on the TV as well as my phone and laptop, but nothing seems to be working. I wonder if the beta is only for the 2017 E series Sony 4k's. I did notice that Google Play recognizes my 850d as "Sony Bravia 2015" but the D models are from 2016.

And I have to really give your team props.....the Android app on my 930e makes DV titles look gorgeous!! Being a Sony owner, I was limited to the Apple TV for DV........and honestly I was never really impressed. Never gave me the WOW over regular HDR. It wasn't until this Android app where I really saw the difference. Even sat the wife down to do a test and she agreed that the Android app blew away the same via the ATV.
I agree. The android Vudu DV is great. I was just comparing it to DV on the Apple movies app and The new Vudu 4K DV app on the Apple TV and my Sony Vudu is brighter and has much more pop to the picture. Great job team Vudu. Also I have yet to experience any buffering yet but I will keep you posted. I?m currently running at 500mbs + download speeds hard wired to my x930e.
