    KaleeRae,

Unplug the device for 30 seconds and then give it another try. If that does not work, please give us a call at (888)554-VUDU or send me a private message including your email address.

      Re: Movie Freezes

I've come to the conclusion that the majority of problems having to do with buffering or freezing have to do with VUDU, not the device we are using.

How can so many people be having problems and we're being told it's our equipment, just turn it on or off, or change this around.

Fix the problem on your end and people will stop complaining!

Does anyone at VUDU actually read these forums, it's not equipment issues, it's a VUDU issue.

If Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Veoh, and most every other streaming site can get it right, why can't VUDU?

Especially with all the money that Walmart has behind them. Spend a little to fix the problem.

        Re: Movie Freezes

I bought a movie the other night and watched it from my Vizio. The movie froze about every 15 minuets. The screen went black and no controls worked. I had to reboot the tv to continue watching. I watch Netflix all the time and have no problem. My Vizio is connected to my network wireless. I also have a WDTV live hub that I store music on. It's hardwired to the network. I have had my TV become unresponsive to the controls due to what I'm told is a conflict with the network but never black screen. The content still plays I just cant use the volume or any other controls until I reboot. Any suggestions?

I'm also freezing more often now, at least when casting to my Vizio P65 from my iphone or laptop. The movie screen freezes and my app shows a spinning progress indicator. My internet is working fine and is hardwired by an ethernet connection to my tv. This most recent freeze was the fastest ever at 6:23 into the movie and then 8:17. The only way around it seems to be to choose another video quality and then back to the original to force a reload. I don't recall having this problem when streaming VUDU through my XBOX. Unlike the others, I am unable to rewind to an earlier part of the movie. All my other streaming devices and the tv's apps are working fine.

            Hi KM,

I did a quick sanity check with casting and I didn't encounter the same issues you're describing. Could you list your iOS version, VUDU app version, and your TV firmware version? That should help me get pointed in the right direction.

              Hi Dan,

I'm using iOS 10.3.1 on an iPhone 6+, and Vudu version 5.2 (183631). My Vizio P65-C1 TV display info says version 3.2.8.3 and Cast Version is 1.22.78594. I thought it might be related to what movie I was watching since I was watching some older Clint Eastwood movies for the first time, but tonight I just tried Master and Commander which I have successfully watched before and it froze at 8:25. I changed mode to SD to restart and then back to HDX and then dragged the timer back a couple of minutes and let it play. It froze again at 8:25. This makes the app almost worthless. I want to sit back and enjoy movies in their entirety, not have them freeze up and then wake up my phone to recycle the video quality to restart the movie. It's like back when people had to bang on the side of the tv to get the tuner to work. I do appreciate your quick response and hope you can sort this out.

                Hi KM,

It looks like it could possible be an issue with the firmware being run on your TV. We'll be reaching out to Vizio to debug further. I'll let you know as soon as we have more information available for you. If you have any questions feel free to respond here or PM me.

                  Hi KM,

I was able to reproduce the bug with Master and Commander. If you have any other movies and timestamps for the freezes, that may help us to get to the bottom of the issue a bit quicker. Thanks!

The movie Freeze when casting is a bug with latest Chromecast version. We have contacted Google to address the issue.

                    Thanks,
                    Tam
