But to be safe, I turned off my Vudu box, waited a few minutes, and then plugged it back.

Upon rebooting I checked my speeds -- they were fine. So I restarted the movie and it started buffering!! So I chose the selection of of watching it in HD. That went well for a while but then it, too, started buffering. I checked my network speeds and they were fine.

    Frustrating!

      Re: buffering problem

I had the same buffering problems with Vudu and other streaming video services. Turned out that the problem was inside my home theater in a box (Samsung 5500). It didn't have enough internal ram. Bought a 16 gig scandisk cruzer fit and plugged it into the external slot. Redirected the BD data management using the system menu and voila! No buffering problems on Vudu or Netflix! Added benefit - program loads faster.

You could probably go with 8 gig, but 16 was on sale at the time. I chose the Cruzer Fit because it was small enough to insert and still close the door. Completely inconspicuous.

      Hope this helps...

        Re: buffering problem

        Thank you, Samsunguser!

I, too, use a BD C5500 and started having serious buffering problems. After reading your post, I plugged in a Sandisk Cruzer 4GB and configured BD Live to use it, and problem solved, at least for now. That's right, a mere 4GB solved it. Heck, can you even buy a USB memory stick that small anymore? (I checked prices and 8GB can be had for under $12, btw.)

I don't know if this will help users of other devices, but apparently local available memory can play a role in the buffering issue.

            Waiting answer today.........
Vudu has a good concept about movies, but it got to work! We watch netflix on streaming but they didn't have current movies streaming. so we were trying something else.
I am pretty tech confident. I feel they is a problem with Vudu and their upstreaming. (Maybe they should hire engineers from netflix, amazon, etc.)

In looking at the forum....it seems buffering is a vudu problem.

Hopefully can resolve problem.....I like the format for vudu....But it has to work. If not I will cancel membership.

                Re: buffering problem

We tried to watch our first movie last night, but only got about 10 min in. We had buffering every 30 seconds or so, lasting for 30-45 sec. I am not techy at all and don't really know how to begin to address it. We were attempting to watch in SD and our upload speed seems to be about 1256, so not fast enough for HD but should be able to run SD. We are using a Samsung DVD player with internet connection and a router. Help! And can I get reimbursed for the credit I used?

I'd be happy to refund you for the movie, could you send me a private message with your email address, or give us your device ID? This should be under info and settings.

                  Are you wired or wireless?

                    Re: buffering problem

Hello, was watching SD "The Help" tonight, constant buffering made the movie unwatchable. I have used vudu once before (by the way, I signed up answering an ad that said try "free" - there was no "free" offer), it worked fine. I don't have super fast ISP, but it still clocks at 3200+ download speed using your test (speedtest.net shows 4200+).

While I appreciate the concept, I am unlikely to use vudu again if there is enough uncertainty regarding ability to stream movies without buffering. Like others, I am back to planning ahead and renting a disc or downloading from itunes or similar service.

                      Kayemtee,

Please give us a call at (888)554-VUDU, we'd be happy to refund you for the movie since you were unable to watch it. If you have the time, we can look into why you experienced the buffering with your VUDU movie.

I signed up for a free movie credit on Vudu on 4-22-2012 and couldn't watch the move because of Buffering every 30 to 45 seconds.I tried to run the Speedtest and kept coming up network problems.I would like to see if i could get the credit from the movie back to try to watch it again or get another movie
