First time user - buffering problem, network error

I recently purchased a TV that automatically connects to Vudu and netflix. I have it connected to my wireless router. Netflix works great but Vudu gives me problems. I did the speed test and it advised me to use SD (which is fine with me). But after I purchased a TV show to watch it would buffer every 30 seconds and then say unable to stream this movie at the moment due to a network error. Please try again a little later. I've tried on and off for the past day but not luck. How do you get Vudu to work like the Netflix works.

Take a look at this post which should help and get you going in the right direction. Good luck.

So I understand extremely little of that posting. What is DNS and how do I get it out of my router. So far most things I use work when you plug them in. Is this something physical I remove? or is it some sort of software thing? Seriously - could someone explain that posting for the over 60 crowd.

      Thanks
PS thought I was doing good to figure out how to post on a forum.

OK - so I opened the software for my router and was able to print out all the network settings. Then I went to the TV and figured out how to enter the DNS address manually. But then the TV won't connect to the internet at all. So I went back and turned it back to automatic. It seemed to set the exact same DNS address but now will connect. What about the IP address, subnet mask and default gateway?

This is ridiculous!! We paid $130 for a Sony Bluray player with tons of features and were excited to see that vudu advertises more movies available sooner than Netflix and is pay-as-you-go. We can't even watch anything, everything buffers every few seconds and then gives us a network error too! Most people don't know how to adjust their DNS, and I guarantee NONE of them want to be bothered with it! Our wireless should be good enough to stream movies without interruption like Netflix does. Why even make anything like this available to everyone if it has to be adjusted and tweaked like this? My 4 yr old was so disappointed that she couldn't watch her movie after we spent so long picking it out! What a bunch of crap.

Wireless streaming can be a dicey proposition sometimes.....Neither one of you stated what speeds you were getting...VUDU has a speed test built into your devices.. you can try to see what speed you are getting....You can also call VUDU customer care and they can walk you through some trouble shooting steps.....

I know it can be frustrating to get the buffering issue, but there are a lot of possible causes and varies for each situation......I know a lot of people want to stream wireless, but it is recommended the link be hardwired to get maximum speed.....Here is a link....
