Can't watch The Avengers on Boxee

In the days before the release of The Avengers, I saw the movie listed on VUDU when on my Boxee Box. On the day of the release, I stopped by the site and rented it in HDX format while logged onto my PC. When I went downstairs to watch it, it was not visible or available on the Boxee Box. In fact, the movie could not be found anywhere in the VUDU interface on the Boxee Box.

Back on my PC, it shows up as rented and available. I had the entire family sitting around for nearly an hour last night before we finally gave up. I opened a support ticket, Tweeted @vudufans, and have waited more than the 24 hours since support's automatic reply indicated I should hear from someone within that time frame. I checked again tonight: The Avengers is still not available.

Honestly, I'm pretty miffed. My special needs son had been waiting to see this one for months--you cannot imagine how such unexpected changes of plans affect him. I still can't watch the movie on the Boxee Box, and we missed the one night we had set aside for movie watching (it was a late start day in our school system the next morning).

Am I the only one? Is anyone else experiencing this? I couldn't find any references to a delay for specific devices. In fact, I found many references that seemed to imply just the opposite--buy it when released, and watch it on any compatible device.

And what's up with VUDU's support? Why no contact? And is it just me, or does it seem ridiculous that a video-on-demand service would need at least 24 hours to reply to an issue? I mean, if you want the movie now, a reply a day later doesn't help.

Disney movies currently are not eligible for playback on the Boxee Box. This is a studio restriction in place. My apologies for the delay in the response from VUDU support.

I see it's the same issue with the Boxee TV. Vudu doesn't show the Disney titles on it.

This is some bull****... I really hate Disney sometimes... Especially when they bought out Pixar.

Is this going to change? So if I purchase a movie online, I can't even see that title in MY Vudu?
