    Sony BDP-S580 and VUDU

I have 2 Sony BDP-S580 Blu Ray players I've been using with Vudu since I believe March of 2012. Everything has been working fine and then yesterday when accessing Vudu from both players ...

after showing the Vudu logo then switching to the loading screen, initializing Vudu movies and then Vudu movies running screen a pop up BOX appears that says:

    Complete Account Setup
Please check your email to complete your Account
Setup. If you can't find your VUDU Account Setup
email, click on one of the options below.

Resend Email Change Email Do it Later

All that information above appears in the pop up box. Both of my players have up to date firmware as I have verified this through Sony. If I click on the Resend Email option another pop up box appears that says:

    Error
Please log in to www.vudu.com with your email (my email addy inserted here) and password and follow the instructions to enter your credit card information.

My credit card information is up to date. I'm a Vudu member through my Wal-Mart account. Everything is up to date. I've sent a support ticket on this and was advised to power cycle both players and my router and then I should be able to stream. I didn't tell support I couldn't stream movies, after I informed them I could still stream movies and to read what I wrote in my support ticket, I was then advised to update my firmware. My firmware is up to date and all other services Amazon, Netflix etc are working fine, no pop boxes. I emailed support advising my firmware is up to date but haven't heard back from them yet.

If I pick the "Do it Later" option, it then takes me to the VUDU screen where I can access My Vudu movies. I know Vudu has done updates to their software lately as now I can sort my movies by genre/purchase time/alphabetical etc and never could before.

I don't think this pop up box is an issue with my Sony players. Any insite on this from support would be appreciated.

that's a very strange VUDU error. I have a S580 also and checked to see if I get any of those errors. My unit appears to be working fine.

I have been emailing Sony support for the last couple weeks about CinemaNow application not working since CN went UV. Their last reply was that CN would be fixed in January.

      Re: Sony BDP-S580 and VUDU

I just got another email from Vudu support asking for the firmware versions of my Sony Blu Ray players. I have both players set to automatically notify me if a new firmware version is available. I also verified on the Sony website that both my players have the latest firmware released August 8. 2012
Firmware version M07.R.0624 on both players as they are exactly the same player.

Posting info in case any of the engineer's here on the forum might find the information helpful in solving the problem as the issue isn't resolved.

      Any assistance is appreciated.

        Hello Sandra,

        What is your case number?

Would you be able to get a screenshot of the error message?
