Very Disappointed in Vudu -- Xbox Playback Error

    Very Disappointed in Vudu -- Xbox Playback Error

    Well I rented a movie (Argo) on Vudu for the first time this past week, using my Xbox 360 to stream it to my TV. My wife and I started watching it on Friday evening. After about 1/2 an hour, it pops up some error along the lines of "Vudu movies aren't available right now. Check http://www.xbox.com/status for status." It never started working and after about 15 minutes of trying, we gave up. We tried watching the movie again on Saturday night, got about 15 minutes more into the movie, and then the same error appeared. Now the movie has "expired" and we wasted the rental fee.

    There is no place to report a problem that I can see under "Support", and so here I am posting on this forum. I'm thinking that this will be my last use of Vudu, and I'm also going to tell all my friends that this service sucks. I might have tolerated this a few months ago, but now that I've got a baby, I have very little spare time to spend watching movies. It's a waste of both my time and money using Vudu when they can't get something as simple as streaming video to work reliably.

    FYI here are troubleshooting steps I followed when the error occurred (two nights in a row).
    1. Check http://www.xbox.com/status using the Xbox built-in web browser. Both times the status claimed Vudu was available.
    2. Restart the Vudu app.
    3. Restart the Xbox.
    4. Check my internet connection and speed from a computer -- I never had a service interruption, and the speed always checked out fine.

    Also, my Xbox is on a wired network, so I know that it is not due to a 802.11 wireless problem.

      I don't understand what's going on with this service. XBOX status shows the service is up and running, I have 14 MBs down/2 Mbs up!!! And this service still has issues!!! It's funny how CinemaNow and NetFlix don't have this issue, however, the Vudu does have a "playback issue"? And support tells you to work with Microsoft to resolve this???? Come on man... This looks really bad for you guys. I hope you know that.

        We have the same issue. There are some great shows on Vudu that I really WANT to watch and I TRY to.
        When I PAY to RENT episodes of Dallas & Game of Thrones, etc... I constantly have playback issues.
        I can't get through a single hour-long episode of anything without at least one or two interruptions and often about 4 or FIVE interruptions.

        I have DSL and did the speed check which shows I have more than ample speed on my connection. We've rented quite a few things and I am about done with this service. Am about to see if there are other services that will allow me to rent from them. Incidentally, I also use Xbox 360 apps to view Netflix, YouTube, Hulu and others... VUDU is the ONLY ONE that CONTINUOUSLY HAS ISSUES.

        I have not been able to find a good source of submitting a complaint or asking for assistance. Can you please help Vudu????

          We have a test version that will be released soon. That version we think we have fixed all related streaming issues with Xbox.
