Still waiting for an answer, Vudu...

    1. What do you believe is the cause?
    2. When do you expect a resolution?
    3. Is there anything we should be trying to fix it from our end?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

      Hello Axolotl,

Which movie was the last you saw this issue with? I'd like to pull the logs and have our team take a look.

        Definitely on these last 2:

        9/5/2013
        The Great Gatsby [HD]

        9/1/2013
        Europa Report [HDX]

Re: Films stop on Vudu for Vizio TV saying "Cannot resume playback"

I've been getting the same thing for the last few days. Even doing a speed test within the Vudu app, it goes to the top of the scale and then just quits saying "Test Failed". Try again, same result. I have a Vizio 55".

I've tried to watch Breaking Bad several times now and it starts out great, buffers then say's cannot continue playback.

I have a brand new home network infrastructure and all of my other services play back flawlessly. I've used Amazon video with no problem (in fact I had to resort to them for new movies instead of VuDu the past couple days). So I know it's not my cable connection or network. A speedtest.net yields a 30mbps+ connection.

If anyone has any info it would be appreciated. For now, I have to bench Vudu for my movies.

          Thanks.

              Hello,

Do you see the error message as the content continues to play in the background?

If you don't, it sounds like it just may be a connection issue. We should be able to help with this if you give us a call at (888)554-VUDU.

                Thank you.

I am curious, though, since many others have reported nearly identical problems... is there a root cause that's been identified? I know you can't put all the cards on the table (I have worked for consumer electronics companies, and know how user forums need to work), but a little more transparency here would go a long way, considering that this problem has existed in one form on another for months now, and quite a few people seem to be experiencing it.

                  Hi Axolotl,

Would you mind gathering the following information for me?

You should be able to find most of this under My VUDU>Info and Settings>System Info

                  - UI
                  - VUDU Version
                  - Embedder Version
                  - TV model
                  - Wired/Wireless connected to your network

                    - UI = 2.0.114081
                    - VUDU Version = 3.0.0 (rev 72847)
                    - Embedder Version = VZ01BC81-1.0
                    - TV model = XVT553SV
                    - Wired/Wireless connected to your network = wired, > 30 MBps

You didn't answer my question, though.

                        Hi Axolotl,

                        I have two final questions.

Are you able to see this issue with every movie? Or, does it happen randomly, but not all the time.

Could you grab one last piece of info from your TV:

Vizio Menu --> help --> System Info --> Version

Here is what I posted in an older forum message (that was never responded to):

I also experience this every time I try to watch a movie on my Vizio. It often happens about an hour into the movie, and sometimes manually downgrading the quality (e.g. from HDX to HD) seems to help. Although tonight I started my movie in HD, and have a wired 23mb/s connection, and got a ton of these messages after an hour (I didn't downgrade to SD), so bandwidth isn't likely the issue...

                          ---

                          Vizio Version = VIZIO_C7.0.1.0-S
