Unable to Start Playback. Please try again later.

For the past several weeks, at least, we constantly get the following error while watching movies on our Vizo TV.

Unable to Start Playback. Please try again later.

It appears that for a short time the movie still plays once the error is received and can be heard below the error message. When we click OK we are returned to the playback screen, from which we can select Resume to continue watching the movie.

This happens with all movies we watch. Most recently, while watching Rise of the Guardians tonight, it happened at least half a dozen times. We're watching Les Miserables now and it just started also. Both movies we've purchased, but it happens with rentals too.

Here are some details on our set-up:

    TV Information -
    TV Model: Vizio XVT553SV
    Version: VIZIO_C7.0.1.0-S
    PCF_SL:0
    FRC Version 01.01.00052

    Vudo Information -
    Device ID: 2ad663
    UI Version: 2.0.105945
    Embedder Version: VZ01BC81-1.0
VUDU Client Version: 3.0.0 (rev 72847)

I'm having the same issue every time I use the Vudu app on my Vizio TV. I love the Vudu service but will be forced to move to Amazon.com unless I can figure out how to fix the "Unable to Start Playback" issue.

Same thing happening here. I loved the Vudu service and used it all the time, but this message will happen many times during a single movie. We have a hard line to the Vizio TV, not using wireless because it always seemed to have trouble with the wireless. So with a 60 Mb/s connection to the internet, with 100 Mb/s Ethernet in the house, I have this message come up. The movie continues to play in the background and when I click OK and it takes me back to the menu, I can immediately start the movie back up and it has no lag. This just started about a week ago. It is frustrating beyond words and definitely would cause me to stop using vudu until it was fixed.

I have the same error on my Vizio TV with Internet Apps. UltraViolet Account Required - Unable to start playback. Please try again later, or contact VUDU customer care for help.

This happened while watching trailers. I deactivated the TV and then tried reactivating it. Worked for an hour then came back.

I also experience this every time I try to watch a movie on my Vizio. It often happens about an hour into the movie, and sometimes manually downgrading the quality (e.g. from HDX to HD) seems to help. Although tonight I started my movie in HD, and have a wired 23mb/s connection, and got a ton of these messages after an hour (I didn't downgrade to SD), so bandwidth isn't likely the issue...

It would be nice if we got a moderator response on this issue... It's been going on for months, and there's at least one other thread on this site discussing it. Vudu is great when it works... I don't want to abandon using it on my TV.
