    Can't link UV account.

I am no longer able to link my UV account and Vudu. I unlinked it due to some issues with movies not showing up and now when I try to it tells me:

You can only create two links to a streaming service that stays connected to devices such as a cable box, game console, smart TV, or connected Blu-ray player. To proceed, unlink one of your current links to this streaming service (from your Member Details page at uvvu.com) or check with the service for other options.

Now I know you can only have 2 accounts linked. I have one account that is linked and then mine was linked so that was 2. If I go to UV's site and look at all the members accounts its still only one member linked to Vudu. So there is not 2 links, only one. I contacted UV and they gave me the prewritten response to unlink blah blah blah. I did the parts that I could do of their list and it still doesnt connect.

Like I stated, all members on my UV account are not linked to Vudu except one. That is the only account that even has Vudu listed at all.

Is there actually someone I can call and talk to instead of getting canned responses to my issue. I lost access to thousands of movies on 1/2 my devices which is not acceptable.

    This is a simple fix.

    1. Login to your Ultraviolet account and click our account which is next to our collection.
    2. Choose the member you're trying to link to Vudu.
    3. On the left side underneath the member you should see linked services. Click on linked services.
    3. You should see Vudu there, just click unlink.
    4. Click save at the bottom.
    5. Login to Vudu and relink there.

      Re: Can't link UV account.

What you posted is the generic response they give you, and if you read the full first post I already went through all that. It really didn't matter as not a single user has Vudu even listed on their accounts. I did have one at the time of my original post but I unlinked that to see if that would matter now I cant get any to link. It tells me there are 2 accounts linked when there are absolutely none now. Like I said, Vudu isn't even listed as a Linked service on any user.

Now I know how to do a generic link (uncheck the link box when signing in) and I can get linked that way, but now I'm down to 663 movies. That is not good considering I had over 2000, and the generic link work around is only temporary, as in I would have to constantly log back in and relink if I wanted to use my movies. I do not know whats going on but this is getting frustrating, especially when I lost so many movies somewhere.

Ultraviolets customer service always responds with generic, pre-written responses that usually have nothing to do with the issue.

This is the downfall of going digital. If something glitches, your screwed out of what you paid for. I lost a ton of money if this doesn't get fixed.

        Re: Can't link UV account.

Another thing that's odd is the movies it actually pulls up if I do a generic temporary link. I have movies I bought last week, and am missing stuff that got bought this week, and some I even bought the day I started Vudu. So they are all random movies, bought at random times. I did a temporary link to the other account I had linked before and that one comes up with different movies and a different amount. So I think UV glitched my account, and I'm lost as to what to do next. I have fired off numerous emails to UV but haven't gotten anywhere.

          Re: Can't link UV account.

I didn't completely read your post and was just trying to help. When I get the Vudu 2 account error I do this and it works almost every time.

The one time that didn't work I had to unlink all services from every account making sure nothing was linked to any account. Next, I turned off all of my portables because those stay logged into Flixster, Cinemanow, etc. I made sure to logout from all services. The last step was to login in and link the main Vudu account to the main UV account first. I linked everything else after that. Keep in mind if you do this and have a Flixster account you will have zero movies there and it won't sync. The only way I was able to make it sync somewhat was to redeem another movie there.

Keep in mind because you have over 2000 movies you'll have lots of trouble with Ultraviolet. I'll bet anything you can't see all of your movies in Ultraviolet and this is part of another problem. If you can't see them how can steaming providers see them. Ultraviolet support is not helpful as I have found out over the past month (and some change) with similar account issues mostly involving Flixster and Cinemanow.

Anyway this is all I can offer as someone trying to help a fellow Vudu member.

Thanks Moweb. I think UV and Vudu finally linked me but its an invisible link as it doesnt show up on linked services on UV's site. You are right though, its a UV issue, as now when I log into UV my collection is completely empty and has the "Click here" to start adding movies. Somehow they botched my account and I lost over 1600 movies, not to mention half my tv shows only show one or two episodes now. When I relinked all my other services (cinemanow, sony, ect) all of them say I have nothing in my UV locker too.

Gotta love the digital age. UV will probably just keep ignoring me, not caring I just lost a metric ton of money. I'm so frustrated right now. Think its time to go back to just buying blurays.

              Re: Can't link UV account.

              fadetonite,

This is the problem and risk I have seen with redeeming movies and TV shows across multiple providers. If you redeem everything through Vudu they keep a pretty good record of it. Your entire collection stays even if you unlink from Ultraviolet. Unfortunately you can't stream until you link an Ultraviolet account at least in my experience. Flixster has/keeps absolutely no record of what you redeem as far as I can tell. If your Flixster account starts missing movies and Ultraviolet somehow also removes them you're screwed. If most of your collection is with Vudu, once the proper link is re-established then everything should return to Ultraviolet.

              I'm sorry I couldn't help.

Just looked through all my purchases on Vudu and a ton are missing from my Vudu account. I fired off an E-mail to have to reinstate the ones in my purchase history. Lets hope they can help.

                  Re: Can't link UV account.

Remember Ultraviolet is a distribution cloud service. So if your UV account is messed up somehow here is an option that worked for my boss that asked me to help him fix his issues with UV on VUDU.

First follow the above instructions as indicated...

UNlink UV unlink VUDU as already established.

Sign into your UV account separately, go to Manage household and delete all but the primary owner account.
                  Sign out.

Make a new free UV account.
Use the UV merge option to Merge the old account into the new account. (this will delete the old account!)
Reestablish your household accounts if needed.
Go into VUDU and relink to the NEW UV account.

This should relink all your UV purchases into your VUDU account.

If your allowing your family to use your UV Household share function, they will still need to relink their VUDU accounts to the new household logins you provide to them for the Shared UV library to appear on their VUDU apps.

Also if you link to other services like VUDU, AKA Flixster and CinemaNow they too will have to be relinked to the NEW UV account you just made. That should reestablish all your services using your UV account.

Hope that is more along the line of what you were looking for.
