Too Many Devices ( Determining Device ID Help )

    Hello,

Today I tried to log into Vudu on my phone and I got a message that I had to many devices activated and to visit a website and remove some..

After going to the website, I saw my Hisense GTV was listed a few times so I removed all but one, then I noticed 3 android devices listed ( Im guessing my phone, nexus 7 and Nexus 10 ).. There was a place I could name update the device name but I could not tell which device was which, so I could not label them.

There was a device ID listed for each device on the webiste but I could not find out how that ID related to the device ? I would like to name them if possible..

    Thanks

    Bryan

Does anyone have an answer for this question ? I have the same problem and cannot figure out which device goes with the Device ID listed in My Devices. Do not want to delete a device until I know what it actually is. Thanks

You may have to go to the settings / info page in the VUDU app to find the device ids. But after you do that you can rename the device in the My Devices page so it's easy to remember in the future.

Also, don't forget that it's very easy to add a device back, so if you're not sure, you can always remove something and rea-authorize it later.

I don't see a settings / info page in any of my vudu apps?

It would be very helpful to have a way to check which IDs go with which device. Re-adding devices isn't hard if they are handy, but if it's (for example) a family member's device, it isn't always convenient to play "process of elimination", especially if you're nearing 8 devices.

On IOS at least, if you enter Settings from the drop down menu and click the Customer Support link, an email will be generated that includes your device id -- you can grab it from there. (I assume something similar exists on Android.)

I have tried this from my iPad and the Device ID generated is a very long alpha/numeric ID. The device IDs that I see when I go into manage my devices are very short and look like this: 0x4E and 0x54. The only two that have longer IDs are the Samsung TVs and they were automatically labeled when activated.

              Any help would be appreciated.

              Thanks

I notice that all of the posts are older, but I thought I would give an option of how I went about naming my devices correctly. I deleted all of the devices on my Vudu account and then as I activated on a device I would immediately name that device. It didn't take long to do this and it was the easiest way to go about making sure the devices were named correctly. I hope this helps...if anybody still needed help!

Until a device that is already registered starts popping up as a new device with a new device ID for some mysterious unknown reason. That's happened a couple times with our account now. Only way to figure out what device it was, was to delete everything and re-add them all.
