    Vudu stopped running on Roku

I have never had any major issue with Roku, except with the occasional buffering that would rarely happen. However, last night I attempted to open the application from my Roku channel screen and it went to the black screen that showed the Vudu logo briefly and then went right back to the channel screen. I tried to remove the app and add it back and even reset the Roku, but neither of these things remedied the issue. I am not that tech savvy, so I am in desperate need of help. I love my Vudu. I should also mention we have a Roku XS that is hooked up wirelessly, not with an Ethernet cord. We have an LG HD TV, if that makes a difference, that we just bought in the last 6 months. All other channels on the Roku work great, it's just the Vudu application. Hopefully someone out there can give me a little insight, because I am absolutely clueless! Thanks everyone!!!!

        Hello,

Have you opened a ticket with our support team as of yet? Would you mind trying to power cycle the device if you're encountering buffering.

          Same issue here.

I tried using the Vudu app on Roku yesterday for the first time. I have 2 Rokus (an HD and XDS) and the Vudu app does not work on either one. One the HD, it just hesitates then returns to the My Channels screen. On the XPS, I get a Loading/Please Wait screen that changes to a 'Network Error' message after about a minute. I rebooted the Roku, tried to reload the app, all without success. Both are connected via wireless.

(Flixster, Amazon Instant Video, and Netflix all work flawlessly.)

            Hi Almcc,

My apologies for the issues you've encountered. Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the application? Could you give that a try and let us know if you continue to see the problem?

Can I get the Software and Build versions from your Roku's please. You can retrieve that information by going to Settings and then System Update. Also indicate the Roku model you have as well.

                  Same here.

My Roku Vudu kept stopping and saying I didn't have enough bandwidth to watch Saving Mr Banks. Nothing wrong with my bandwidth. Multiple speed tests showed 12 Mb/s down, 2 Mb/s up. After multiple failures on the Roku, I switched to my Sony DVD player and all was fine at HDX. Both devices are connected (wired) the same. The Roku failed at HD also.

My Roku is 4200X, software 5.3 build 4016.

I reset power and tried the Roku again after finishing the movie on the Sony. Same result. Other apps on the Roku work fine (netflix, amazon, huluplus, etc).

I don't know if it's just the Roku. Vudu is having connectivity issues through my Blu-ray player as well, and that is right next to my router. The player itself gets full signal strength, but when an HDX movie begins to play on Vudu, it shows barely a green bar and buffers every few minutes. I end up having to watch the standard versions on my computer. That's not what I paid for. Amazon HD streaming works fine, and so does Netflix. Both indicate a perfectly acceptable connection and don't need to buffer. Vudu never had a problem until around January. Could this be an issue between Vudu and Verizon Fios? I have all the latest Verizon equipment and their faster internet speed. Everything else works great... Just not Vudu.
