    Encountered error during playback problem

    A few days ago the Vudu app on my NOT rooted Lenovo tablet stopped playing any movies even downloaded. I can watch trailers but nothing else. Have plenty of storage and speed. Other streaming services work fine.

    What's the current version of the Vudu app installed on your tablet?

              I'm having this same issue on a Lenovo Yoga Book, Android 7.1.1. I've even factory reset my device and it's still not working.

                There's a known bug affecting Intel powered Android devices at the moment. A fix for this should be released sometime next week.

                    So the fix is to remove HDX support from them? It's 2018 and we can't get HDX on Intel Android devices? Tablets and Chromebooks are a HUGE market. This is really frustrating. At least content will play now, but come on Vudu.

                      It was either allow SD playback in the meanwhile or nothing at all. We are still looking into this issue.

                        I have been having the same issue for the past month... I can't even watch my movies in SD either though. My movies start playing for between 10 and 30 seconds then crash I had a Google pixel and just got a Galaxy s8 2 days ago and it still isn't working. Until this thing is fixed and I can watch my movies on either my phone or tablet I will not be buying anymore movies from your site.

                          Hello, Vudu,

                          I also have the same playback problem in Chrome 87.0.4280.88 (64-bit) and Edge 87.0.664.60 (64-bit). It doesn't matter which video I pick from my collection. All I see is the perpetual spinner animation.

                          The only thing that works for me is the Vudu app from the Windows App store. However, that only plays my recently added LOTR and The Hobbit 4K UHD collection. I cannot play episodes from Batman: The Animated Series I had added to my Vudu account several years ago. When I try to play an episode, I see the same perpetual spinner animation.

                          However, I have a front-end developer background, opened up the Chrome dev tool, and noticed several console errors.

                          In the order, they appear.

                            I fixed the Vudu Windows app. I recently updated my video drivers and several additional drivers, including one that requested a machine restart. It appears my machine was in a state that was causing playback issues through the app. After I rebooted, the videos started playing again. However, the browser continues to throw errors.
