How do I know if titles are UV and can be shared with family?

    How do I know if titles are UV and can be shared with family?

    My sister and I have connected our VUDU accounts, but she is not able to see the new movies I added to my library. A couple months ago I purchased 4 titles from Best Buy:

    War for the Planet of the Apes [Blu-ray]
    Kong: Skull Island [Blu-ray]
    The Fate of the Furious [4K Ultra HD Blu-ray/Blu-ray]
    John Wick: Chapter 2 [4K Ultra HD Blu-ray/Blu-ray]

    I bought them so we could share them, as they all included digital copies. However, she just tried to watch The Fate of the Furious and told me she can't see it in her account. We found out the only one of the four she can see is John Wick 2. I've been trying to figure out what makes that title different from the others. My main question is: Going forward, how do I know which titles I will be able to share? I won't buy them if I can't share them. I've never had a problem sharing before, other than Disney of course, but I understand Disney doesn't allow sharing.

    Another question is: If I had purchased these titles straight through VUDU, could they have been shared? I bought them through Best Buy because I could get the disc and digital copy cheaper than I could get the digital copy alone on VUDU.

    Depending on how you redeemed the movies will determine whether or not you get UV rights.

    1. If the movie is UV enabled and you redeem on the VUDU site, it should get the UV rights and port to other shared accounts.

    2. If the movie is UV enabled and you redeem on the Movies Anywhere site you will not get the UV rights. It will port down to your VUDU account and, if attached, up to iTUnes/Google Play/FandangoNow.

    3. You can redeem on the studio site for some movies, but most are starting to send you to MA to redeem the movies. I know that Fox and Sony for sure will send you to MA to redeem your movie which will cause a loss of UV rights.

    Basically, if you redeem anywhere other than VUDU and the movie goes thru MA, you will not get UV rights.

    I am more concerned with getting the best quality versions of movies that are available so I check to see which way will give me 4k/UHD on the most platforms as possible. If I'm able to get UV, then others get to benefit. I try to redeem most everything directly on VUDU because most newer movies I've been buying are offered in UHD on VUDU and since I get the UHD tag when I redeem them, it ports thru MA up to iTunes as 4k and I get my 4k copy there. (I don't like all my eggs in one basket if I can help it.)

    To answer your last question, yes, if you had bought them straight from VUDU, you would have gotten the UV rights and they would have shown on the other account.
