    "Encountered problems during playback. Please restart the app and try again"

    When I download movies that I own to the vudu app I get an error message when I try to watch them telling me to restart the app. I have a galaxy s4.

    Can you please provide me with the following information, thanks.

    -Rooted?
    -Android OS version
    -Have you downloaded the latest version of our app from the GooglePlay store?

        Can you stream movies successfully?
        Have you removed and reinstalled the Vudu app?
        Can you also provide me with a date and time (with your timezone) when you have experienced this issue as well.

        If this all fails, can you please download the follow app from the GooglePlay store so we can get some detailed info on your phone's capabilities. This app will create a text file with this information. PM me this information when you can, thanks.

          - I'm able to stream from my movie collection, but unable to play anything from downloads.

          - I have removed and reinstalled the app but the problem persists.

          - I experienced the problem right now at 6:08 a.m. EST

          - Signing out and signing back in seems to temporarily fix the problem, but doing this deletes all my downloads leaving me to re download everything all over again. After working for a little while the problem returns.

          - I'll try to download the app you linked and send you more info.

              I'm now having problems streaming movies now also... was in the middle of streaming a movie just now (12:00 pm EST) when it stopped on its own with the same error message. Attempts to restart the stream and to stream different movies are now met with the same message.

                I can't watch the UHD version of "Saving Private Ryan" on the Nvidia Shield. I tried both the internal Vudu app and also by casting from an iPad and the UHD version won't play. The HDX version did work when casting. My case # is 180516-000240. Thanks!

                  There is a known issue on Nvidia Shield affecting some Paramount titles. Nvidia has fixed it and it should be in their next system software update.

                      Downloads and streams are now both working again (5:00 am EST)

                      This is becoming very random but it's still a problem more times than not to the point that most of the time vudu is unusable.

                      My own troubleshooting in the past hasn't provided any fixes. I've made sure there aren't any other apps running in the background that could be possibly interfering with vudu. Restarting the app does nothing, neither does restarting the phone.

                      The only thing I've discovered for sure is that signing out and signing back in temporarily fixes the problem. Thank you again for your time on the matter.

                        Just wanted to drop in and say that I haven't had an issue for the past two weeks which was unheard of.... I don't even think I've made it a whole week before this.

                        If it's just luck then I'll still take it but if you quietly did something on your end to fix the problem then thank you.

                            I just started getting this error myself a few days ago. I can't watch ANYTHING on my phone. I've tried movies I own and the free ones with ads with same error coming up. My TV app works fine though.

                              Why won't Vudu play downloaded movies that I paid for? I have tried on S8 and Tab-E and both get same error message when I try playing movie. I have deleted the app, signed out and back in, ran around yelling at random items, but it still gives me the error message.
