Vudu constantly buffering in the last few weeks

So recently Vudu has been buffering and then asking me to downgrade the quality of the movie I am watching. It happened on my samsung TV, hard wired, happened to my xbox 1s hard wired, and happened to my tcl 615 tv via wifi. Netflix, amazon prime, youtube all work flawlessly with UHD and HD, vudu is the only one that seems to be buffering. My internet connection is fios gigabit, so i know it's not my internet speed. Is this issue due to peak hours, ie watching movies around 7pm onwards? Any one else having this issue?

I've had these issues from time to time and technical support and I have spent a lot of time trying to figure it out to no avail. They've sent the case up to engineering which never got back to me. Now that my Apple TV 4K supports Vudu Atmos, I just use the Vudu app on the ATV4K which never has buffering issues.

    126 UHD
    842 HDX
    3 SD

Last couple weeks has sucked with Vudu. Constantly buffering, going to the loading.. screen over and over across all devices, Xbox One, PS4, Samsung TV. Have Fios Gigabit and a solid 900+ up and down all the time. All support tells me is run the speedtest.vudu.com and report back, but that is using flash and none of my browsers will even show the test. The main speedtest site works, why didn't they update their's to get with the time.

I've used VUDU for many years with no issues. I recently bought a new LG UHD tv and was really looking forward to streaming 4k content direct to my TV. when I first hooked up the TV it streamed the first UHD movie great. After that it started downgrading and now can't play even SD without buffering. Just like the other posts all my other devices stream VUDU just fine. My LG tv streams Amazon Prime just fine. I have a 100mb+ connection and this shouldn't be happening. Pointless to call VUDU tech support?

I also have an LG tv and I?ve been having issues with Vudu all year. I thought that everything had been sorted out, but all this week on my tv app, I?m having the same buffering issues. Luckily the movies I?m wanting to watch are Movies Anywhere, so I?ve been streaming through Amazon Prime without any issue. Vudu apps are always finicky and tech support takes forever to get a fix.

@FelipeF is there any word on a fix for this issue? I have no trouble streaming 4K or any other content on Amazon, Netflix, of FandangoNow...however when I try to use the vudu app on my LG tv it constantly buffers. Seems like LG and vudu don't go together after what all has been happening since last November when the app was useless.

I know this is an "old" thread, but thought I would share my experience and voice my frustration as well. I have several "smart" devices with the Vudu app installed. (3) Sony blue-ray players (2014- 2016 vintage), a VIZIO "smart" TV, several Windows Surface Pro tablets and even a Kindle FireTV Cube (had to go thru some interesting gyrations to get a Vudu app installed and working). Some are wireless connected and others hardwired to a 100GB LAN. My internet provider is Verizon FiOS and I have the 150Mb x 150Mb package.

I have been a Vudu subscriber for several years and until recently, have been a strong supporter of the platform. Since late last year, without exception, each and every device is experiencing some degree of playback interruption/buffering with HDX to SD downgrade recommendation. Every ... Single ... Time ... I ... Stream ... A ... Movie. Lately, it is occurring so frequently it is not possible to enjoy movies at all.

I have 30 years experience in PC networking and know how to troubleshoot network connectivity and latency issues. Let me stress that the issue is ENTIRELY with Vudu. My internet is stable and Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and Curiosity all stream with very little problem (after all nothings perfect). My network is fine and the other streaming apps know it. I just wish Vudu would get a clue ...

The app must have auto-updated (the screensaver logo looks different) a little over a week ago, and since then, any time I try to watch Game of Thrones (I haven't needed or wanted to watch any other shows or movies, as I don't like multi-tasking my watching; I'm only in my 30s, but it gets confusing watching different things at the same time) it constantly buffers, often kicks me out of HDX suggesting I watch SD due to insufficient speed (I just tested it: 169mbps), and even then buffers so often, I'm not really watching it any more, as it buffers more often than actually plays.

I've never had this issue in the two years I've had the Phillips TV. Buying a new TV is not an option. Especially not for an app that worked perfectly up until a week and a half ago. I have zero issues with Netflix or Youtube (also built into the TV).

Some minor details along with the aforementioned screensaver logo look slightly different, which leads me to believe the SmartTV app updated, though I never elected for it to do so.

This needs to be fixed, please. I'm afraid to watch a movie now, if I can't even watch a 50 minute TV show without it stopping every 30 seconds to 2 minutes. I have sunk FAR too much money into my Vudu library to not rely on it as my sole source of entertainment.

I gotta admit Vudu can still buffer even with my gigabit internet with ethernet connection. About 400 mbps down and up when I tested speedtest on my Xbox One S and Vudu still buffers every once in a while even when watching HDX titles. Never happened with other apps like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Microsoft Store Video.
