Re: VuduToGo Is NOT detecting that I logged on and Will Not show my downloads...

Looks like iTunes stopped working for Win XP users for a bit, due to a security change. I'm impressed at how quickly it seems to have been resolved, judging by the Apple Support Communities thread. Similar customer frustrations voiced there as here. Similar stats shown on the number of Win XP users still in existence. What is absent from that discussion is the implication that Win XP customers are SOL and need to change their OS if they want to continue using the service.

I've looked into the two other online disc-to-digital service providers--one is only supporting Win 7 and up, the other still works (very well) for Win XP users. Bet you can guess where I'm shopping these days.

Re: VuduToGo Is NOT detecting that I logged on and Will Not show my downloads...

I am having the same "unable to login" problem on my PC that I've just hooked back up to the 'net after several years.

It's a Vista machine, not XP, so that isn't directly the issue.

What I did notice is that Kaspersky was throwing warnings off the first time it ran, which was "unsafe SSL connection detected", with the detail that there was an "Attempt to use a vulnerable version of SSL protocol."

The log shows that the errors started immediately after Vudu To Go and Adobe Air were installed.

That tells me this could be at least partially a firewall issue due to a call to an outdated or compromised SSL protocol.

Re: VuduToGo Is NOT detecting that I logged on and Will Not show my downloads...

"On Tuesday, May 12, Adobe released critical patches for Flash Player, Reader, Acrobat and Air...." (http://www.idigitaltimes.com/adobe-f...malware-440796)

        Who Needs To Update?
All users on Windows Mac or Linux running the following software should update:
Adobe Flash Player 17.0.0.169 and earlier
AIR Desktop Runtime 17.0.0.144 and earlier
AIR SDK and SDK & Compiler 17.0.0.144 and earlier
        <snip>

Uninstalling and reinstalling Vudu To Go updates AIR to the current (17.0.0.172) version--previously it installed 17.0.0.144. The article I linked to at the beginning of this post explains how to update AIR and Flash on your systems if it has not been done automatically.

Relevant to this discussion, these are the current Windows updates for the Flash Player and AIR:

        Adobe Flash Player
        Version 17.0.0.188
        System requirements for Microsoft? Windows?:
        * 2.33GHz or faster x86-compatible processor, or Intel? Atom? 1.6GHz or faster processor for netbooks
        * Microsoft? Windows? XP (32 bit), Windows Server 2008 (32 bit), Windows Vista? (32 bit), Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit), Windows 8 (32 bit and 64 bit), or Windows Server 2012 (64 bit)
        * Internet Explorer 8.0 or later, Mozilla Firefox 17 or later, Google Chrome, or Opera 11
        * 512MB of RAM (1GB of RAM recommended for netbooks); 128MB of graphics memory

        Adobe AIR
        Version 17.0.0.172
        System requirements for Windows:
        * 2.33GHz or faster x86-compatible processor, or Intel Atom? 1.6GHz or faster processor for netbook class devices
        * Microsoft? Windows? XP, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista? Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise (including 64 bit editions) with Service Pack 2, Windows 7, or Windows 8 Classic
        * 512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)

I'm not really understanding the issues VUDU is having with supporting win xp/vista, Mac OS, etc. Or, with getting Walmart's service fixed for that matter. The premise of watching our movies on any computer or device (as commercials for BD and other advertisements lead us to believe) is becoming a (laughable, frustrating) fallacy rather than a reality.

I tried my local Walmart a couple of days ago--the guy really tried to help, but the system would not recognize my account information (email address, phone number). He gave it a good try for half an hour, no joy. He said he had never been able to get it to work in the two years he's been working there, but one of his co-workers (not available at that time) had occasionally been able to get it to work. I will go back later to see if she is available to give it a try. BTW, the employee did have one customer call Walmart HQ. HQ leaned on the employee to provide the service. He made one very good point--he can't fix the problem no matter how loudly someone complains. He even called their own tech support while I waited and was told it is a VUDU issue.

In the meanwhile, I've been fattening the coffers of a competitor for my in-home D2D conversions. Their customer service has been a positive, fast and friendly experience.

I have Windows Vista. I downloaded the VUDU app, entered a code and downloaded the first movie, no problem. I now have more movie codes that have been entered and are in My VUDU list. However, I am unable to download the movies. I keep getting a message that I need to download the VUDU app first. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app but still cannot download the movies. I can watch them but not download. Adobe updates have been kept current with no problems.

I've found that using just my email address works at Wal-mart. Throw in the phone number or just use the phone number and it chokes. Don't know if you tried just your email address, but it's worth a try if you haven't.

Take a look at this post for the answer.

I actually have found this same issue with Windows 7. I recently did a clean install of the OS, and could no longer log in with the Vudu to go program. In fact, after I enter my log in info, nothing really happens, it just goes back to the screen it was before I tried to log in. I'm not sure if this is a completely different issue from this thread, but it's happening with Windows 7.

                      -------------------------------

                      Adobe AIR / Tech specs

                      System requirements

                      512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)

AIR SDK Development Supports Microsoft? Windows 7 and above, 64-bit only

                      -------------------------------

                      No mention of XP.
I just updated from Vista to Windows 7 and I still cant get it to work.
