Does Vudu or LG have any interest in fixing this issue? Its a pretty expensive TV to have this problem.
Same here. Also cannot seem to find alternatives to Vudu for 4K content as you noted. Anyone use any different apps for 4K content? Vudu doesn't work on LG TVs.

I agree 100% as not only is it giving me issues on my New 77 OLED but has been giving me issues on my Samsung SUHD 55. This issue first started with my SUHD. It never happened with my older Samsung Color Series 55. For the longest time we suspected it was an internet issue but we have gone through everything one step at a time only to determine it is 100% a Vudu issue and in No way a TV issue. While VUDU is offering more 4k movies than any other provider they are lacking the ability to properly stream through their service at this time. I typically only buy movies so this is rather frustrating that I have so many 4k movies and get a minimum of 20 - 30 playback errors per movie no matter the setting even if I step it to the lowest settings.

I would really like to see a correction to this issue so that I do not have to abandon Vudu and the money I have invested into the company.

We are still waiting on LG to resolve this issue on their TVs. We are working and providing them with data that hopefully will be useful in their investigation to get this finally resolved.

I am having issues with the Vudu app as well, on OLED65C8P. It will frequently either pop up the dialog titled "Playback error", or the full screen message about losing connectivity. It is nearly impossible to watch (this is watching Warehouse 13 UHD). Doesn't happen with any other app. Please help, I don't want to have to take it back.
Oh, audio is using ARC back to my audio receiver.

I have a new LG OLED77C8PUA, and after numerous talks with tech support, port forwarding, changes to a static IP, and other suggestions, I was pretty much ready to give up. The issues with the LG sets and VUDU, relative to player problems reported in this thread, go back years, not months, and it has never been clear to me who is responsible since there is considerable finger pointing by those who are supposed to be in a partnership.

Anyway, following the most recent LG WEBOS update (04.10.31), I can actually play a VUDU movie without player errors. Although I have reported apparent fixes before, only to return to report problems returning, it's possible it is all actually working.

Would be interested to hear from other LG owners using VUDU about their experience following this update.

My LG Roku TV can't play today. When I selected a TV episode, it kept going back to the menu.

Just got a brand new 2018 LG 65 Inch SK9500 (their top model before the OLED series) and I'm also having this issue. Had to switch to use my Sony X700 or using the Google App to play movies which is a pain in the butt.

This is also happening with my 2018 C8 model TV, with latest updates installed. To add insult to injury apparently there's no other way to stream 4k, so the UHD stuff I paid for I can't watch right now

LG 65" C8 Vudu app same problem as all others stated above. Over 240 movies purchased on Vudu with many re-purchased to have 4k / Atmos / HDR features. Vudu should be doing more to meet their obligation to customers. This has dragged on far too long without a fix. I signed up to voice my disapproval but I'd rather be watching movies. I'll be watching this thread for corrective action by Vudu before purchasing additional content. I like the features of Vudu and invested a noteworthy amount of money on content however if I can't view a movie without being interrupted 20+ times with message that player has stopped working this platform has less value than watching free over-air content with commercials.

I tried to watch Wonder Woman today, and literally lost count of how many times the player crashed and I had to restart the movie. Had to have been 30+ times. I'd really like to use Vudu since as far as I know it's the only service that supports both Dolby Atmos and Vision, but unless this gets fixed I don't think I'll be using this service again. LG C8 OLED.

I have the 65" C8 and hundreds of movies on VUDU. I bought this TV to watch 4k/UHD movies but it is irritating to constantly restart every few minutes. Extremely disappointed in VUDU and LG for not resolving this major longstanding issue. I'd like to know what VUDU is actively doing to fix this.

I own an LG C8 and after the most recent LG update last week, I now get constant playback errors when trying to watch movies I've rented. I am having to resume playback every three or so minutes. This is incredibly annoying and I'm worried my movies are going to expire because I can't get through them. Please put out an update!
